Good job on NL50 man
My own stay there was a short one, although not because of running bad on NL50 ♦ I was mixing NL50 with NL25 and running like major crap on NL25 so had to move down haha.
Hey, nice one the 77
#1: did you have any stats on players?
Pre: I would be inclined to 3b on sb with your hand -> good hand vs. his range (unless he's a nit. In which case you have to 3b too) + you will be playing oop.
I don't know if the following is useful, but
flop: I assume his cbet % was on the high side and hence your play there? Donking is another option. Trickier because he will probably float you, but you might just give it up to a float (and the pot will be smaller). Any stats on him here?
turn: not sure about it, but it is a possibility I suppose. I might check hoping to get a free card or a weak float from his part, that I might consider calling or not...as I doubt you would get any action if you hit your flush.
river: Well, obviously he has something (may be some stats on you bettting/folding river? ♦) Your perception of his hand if he raises you is such, that you are ready to fold TPTK. Then don't bet. If you think your TPTK has showdown value, then check-call. Also, if you have some history or know him a little, you might gain information based on the size of his bet.
What do you think? Sorry I don't have time for H#2 at the mo, but I will try to check it later.
S.
I just moved to Stars, so basically no stats or reads on anybody yet
So it's a bit of a guessing game atm.

Villain - 24/21 regular looking player
Obv we can discount KK & I think a regular would almost always raise 66/JJ/KJ on the flop coz it's kinda wet and also the kind of flop that either hit me really nice and he should be most likely stacking me or missed completely in which case I'm gonna give up on the turn most likely ...
So rather looks like a float to me ... esp after that less than 1/2 PSB @ turn
And now he shoves the river for 3/4 PSB, with what?
I expect him to make a normal valuebet on the river with AK coz he does have to be worried about KJ/QTs possibly - hands that I'd most likely be 3betting pre, obv cbetting my OESD and then c/c turn possibly.
And I never expect him to show up with QT either coz it would be a really bad preflop call coming from a regular and us not being deep nor having any history.
Tl;dr Summary = Looks like a "Float him so a small bet should take it down on the turn, fuck it failed, but he still looks weak so I'll just shove now"

Should call it down vs fish? He was obv fish with the midstack + a big gap between his VPIP & PFR ... though not big enough of a sample to look at other stats ...
Turn I'm obv calling - overpair + gutter + weak FD
He can obv donk a flush but also some pair+gutters/OESD's with a weak FD as well ... But he snapbet 3/4 @river and if he doesn't have a flush then he at least hit his str8 now ... and getting 2.4:1 isn't enough to call and hope he played two pair or a weaker set this way ...
ooor ?
KT hand i've got to think you're beaten there. Whilst the flop does look like a standard float and the turn bet looks weak it does set him up nicely for a value-shove on the river. Regs can also show up with KK/AK/AA here as well i've noticed a lot of that at NL25 and NL50 on Stars, regs flatcalling a resteal after opening from the BU with premiums, and JJ is a possiblity as well. Just can't see you being ahead in this hand tbh, what did he have btw? ♦
With the TT hand, what were your plans after the turn when you were playing it? Would you have called if an overcard came out? Because there are so many scare cards that could complete flushes/straights/overcards that can come out. Also, the SB donk into you on the turn usually indicates strength when it's comin from a fish, can only assume he has hit his flush there and is tryin to get you off a higher, 1 card flush draw. As played river has to be a fold, but I think i'd either raise him on the turn or fold, because you have to fold vs almost any river bet.

I guess you're right about the possibility of him valueshoving a slowplayed AA ... but I'm pretty sure he would bet the turn bigger to protect/get more value and then do like a 2/3 pot shove which would be a lot better ... Coz if I have a hand to call, I'm gonna be calling anyway, why underbet the turn with a strong yet very vulnerable hand?
And KK is obv super unlikely ... coz
a) he didn't 4bet
b) even if he likes to slowplay monsters pre, on this board there's just 1 combo of KK left
And you really have to know your opponent imo to just brutaly valueshove AK there. And I mean, I assume he would be vbetting like 1/2 - 2/3 on the river there and bluffcatch me if I shoved ...
But if he just shoves there ... what the hell can I call with? Jx ?
So yeah ... Only possibility that could make sense in my mind is slowplayed AA, but still that weak turn betsizing doesn't make any sense imo with his value hands ...

I wouldn't call if an A or J hits the river probably (coz A of
is obv in his range there often enough and also fish play any Ax & J completes a lot of draws as well or hits JT that missed its OESD).
If a heart falls on the river, then it's obv timing/betsize dependant.

edit: (-> I don't get them right yet. I think the one that should go there is
) Very nice call from your part

Fair enough then ♦ I suppose your Cbet flop/ Check call turn line did indicate a bit of weakness and he probably had you on a flushdraw, so he felt shoving the river was the best bet of winning the hand ♦ Nice bit of hand reading to call it down though ♦ I suppose that's why you're at NL50 and i'm still stuck down on NL25

I have to practice thinking like that during my hands though ...
Like, the thought process & reasoning that I explained here ...
This is what I see & think about the hand when I have time to look at it while I'm reviewing etc etc ...
But during the time the hand actually takes place, when I made the call I didn't think about it like that ...
During that hand I just felt instinctually that something was off/wrong and that I have to call.
I don't know if that's good or bad (somewhat bad, coz it's always better to know EXACTLY why you're doing the things ur doing) ... But I guess it shouldn't be too bad, coz instinctual actions/instincts are based on (past) experience(s).
And that comes from playing and reviewing ...
I try to listen to what my guts/instincts are saying and I act accordingly ...
They're usually right - and if not, I gain new XP so that next time I will
Yeah it's all about reviewing the same situations over and over until those sort of decisions become very easy to make ♦
Unfortunately (For me, not you :p) I still couldn't spot it even on reviewing the hand ♦

Well, it worked out this time and these are just my thoughts ... But poker's tricky - you can make a play/decision that seems correct and when it works out, you're like "hell yeah, pwned that fish" even though in actuality you might've made a horrible play
So that's the reason why I posted these here, to find out what other (more experienced) players think of it and whether I made the correct decision.
Anyway, this is me @NL50 so far at the moment ...
5bb/100 now
[ ] sample
Though it's pretty funny, at times it feels like NL50 is actually easier in some ways ... coz this is the limit where people have discovered that 3betting/bluff 4betting & being uberaggro is important ... and then they totally overdo it in stupid spots

I like what my redline's been up to lately
It's quite (an) awesome (feeling), just by moving up and getting used to a new/a bit tougher/more aggro limit,
you evolve so much, even though you might not even be aware of it ...
Coz when I moved up to 50, I felt like it wasn't much different or anything harder than 25 ...
Yet, after playing there, I now feel even more comfortable and "ez game" while playing @25 now.
Pretty kewl

Stopped on exactly 25,000 hands ♠_cool: Nice going ♦
About the redline, mine started going steadily upwards when I started adjusting properly and light 4betting with success at the end of last month. Well, that is until I hit a horrible streak last week (In about 7k hands my redline dropped from +$70 to -$125, with my green line showing and even worse dip :x)
LOL @ getting 3.3:1 and folding ... whatever he called UTG open+MP call and was good enough to 4bet a squeezer ...
should be good enough to snap off with getting that price ?!
