Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) - Full Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

CO ($31.15)
Button ($19.05)
SB ($23.19)
jbpatzer (BB) ($40.69)
UTG ($25)
MP ($25.35)

Preflop: jbpatzer is BB with K♦, 3♣
4 folds, SB calls $0.15, jbpatzer bets $1, SB calls $0.75

Flop: ($2) K♠, K♥, 3♦ (2 players)
SB checks, jbpatzer checks

Turn: ($2) 5♦ (2 players)
SB checks, jbpatzer bets $0.80, SB calls $0.80

River: ($3.60) 9♦ (2 players)
SB checks, jbpatzer bets $38.89 (All-In), SB calls $21.39 (All-In)

Total pot: $46.38 | Rake: $2.31

Results:
SB had A♦, J♦ (flush, Ace high).
jbpatzer had K♦, 3♣ (full house, Kings over threes).
Outcome: jbpatzer won $44.07

I'm going to stick with NL25 until I pass $1.15K, then back to NL50. $40 to go....

noooo not the best application. best betsize here is 2.3$ for value from ace high. and then if he raises u then overbet ship . his turn call range is too wide for this.

I like the Check on FLOP _pleased:

Nice Pot!

Just had an epic luckbox session, +3BI, 6BI above AI EV. I should have played some MTTs instead. Just need to finish off my steps tickets, and I can have another crack at NL50.

Found out that Kung Fu Panda 2 isn't on for a couple of weeks, so we saw this instead, which was rather good.

I was unhappy about my yellow line last night, so I had a look at my hands. In fact most of the difference was because I had KK > AA and AK>AQ + QQ AI pre for 150bb, and I wouldn't have played those any differently. However, I did find this one.

MP ($24.42)
CO ($36.44)
Button ($30.59)
jbpatzer (SB) ($27.50)
BB ($27.09)

Preflop: jbpatzer is SB with K♠, J♠
UTG bets $1, 1 fold, CO calls $1, 1 fold, jbpatzer raises to $4.25, 1 fold, UTG calls $3.25, CO calls $3.25

Flop: ($13) 10:spade:, K♥, 7♦ (3 players)
jbpatzer bets $6.80, 1 fold, CO calls $6.80

Turn: ($26.60) 8♠ (2 players)
jbpatzer bets $16.45 (All-In)

No worthwhile stats. I didn't want to flat KJs OOP, so it seemed like a good hand to squeeze with, although this may be me getting my preflop 3betting ranges wrong again (I found another hand where I flatted J9s OOP, so go figure).

I felt I had to stack off once I hit top pair, particularly once I picked up the FD on the turn.

its crazy when you squeeze and everyone calls and its a multiway pot and its huuuuge. i have no trucking idea what to do then. i hope TT swoops in soon and gives the smackdown on this hand. esp best line preflop.

I think flatting is better and c/c turn. Did you bet for value or as a bluff? I don't think you gonna get villain to fold many better hands (if any). and what worse hand are going to call you? However it is a clear c/c for bluff catch on a float and you still have quite a few outs even against the nutz.

I would strongly consider flatting KJs. KJo would be OK to squeeze imo, but suited plays well mutliway...

I suspect this is correct.

It was a cbet on a dry board. I think this is exactly one of the spots that TT has been going on about where this is a +EV play, but not the best play. c/c makes sense I think. But I'm still a bit unsure.

KJo i would squeeze or fold pre in SB

KJs i would almost always call - great playability, decent tp value. even oop if opponents are not sharks we should be able to turn a profit

flop cbet is def +ev. they will just miss this board often enough or have weaker hands.

however, i think u rep too much strength here cbettting and shoving turn. no worse hands can call .... and ofc no better ones ever fold

so i would start off by checking flop, expecting it to get checked through a decent amount. ofc, we are not folding our hand. we just wanna increase our ev vs a range that we beat (bluffs and weaker made hands that bet [for free sd or to manage the pot themselves]) - vs their value range we lose anyway. but pot is too bigt and hand too strong to fold

after checking flop their are many many lines to take, depends on betsizing, timing and action of our opponents.

cbetting for the sake of protection is not a consideration. dry board + 3b pot (pot/stack ratio is low anyway)

as played after the cbet, i think turn is a clear check. vs a shove we call and maybe we can extract in 5-10% of cases more value from a range that we beat. if we shove, we only get called by better, worse hands fold.

after check-check turn we can ofc vbet river vs JJ, QQ, AT .....

This is where I go wrong the most I think. I can't see any reason why I shouldn't be able to plug this particular leak.

He called with KQo and I hit a J on the river. :f_biggrin:

Yeah from my experience of almost doing the exact same thing, shoving here is turning youir hand into a bluff. Nothing worse is calling, nothing better is folding. Although i'm not sure myself what is the best line to take. I mean, i'd always Cbet that flop, but then it's hard to not cbet the turn as well when you pick up a flushdraw, so i'm not sure of the best line at all.

if cant bluff bet or value bet but are ahead enough of the time and have outs when you are not then induce by checking OOP!

If in doubt, I usually bet or raise, which is better than checking or calling in general, but I think I need to develop a more subtle approach. I have the same problem with chess. If in doubt, sacrifice something!

Just finished a long and serious session of Snakes and Ladders with my daughter. After going down the same snake four times in a row, she overtook me to win, and now I think I have S&L tilt. So rigged.

At least you got your money in good. S&L's pretty swingy, lotta randomness imo, you don't get much of an edge.

It turns out that the cure for my manky feet is to take antifungal drugs for at least three months, but that they can fuck up your liver, so I have to have a blood test first to see whether my liver can cope. Omfg, it's my feet, and I feel like I have cancer or something. Ridiculous.

Had a sweat session with thazar last night, which went very well I thought, although I did manage to dump 2 BI at NL50, so I'm back to NL25 again. Ho hum! Anyway, he is an ideal sweat partner because 1) He has two small children and a job, 2) He's playing SH rush to get volume in, 3) He's been a winning player at SSS and MSS, 4) He's clearly a good player, although he seems not to think so, 5) He's in the right time zone, 6) He's getting coached by TT too. He's not a 30 year old nymphomaniac, but nobody's perfect.

I played a hand where I had the odds to call and take a card on the turn, but made a spewy shove instead. He pointed this out to me and we analysed it carefully afterwards. Then when he played, bugger me, he did pretty much exactly the same thing! I pointed it out to him and we analysed it carefully afterwards. It reminded me of playing 5 minute chess, which is always much easier when you're watching than when you're actually having to make the moves yourself.

I have realized that my basic psychological state is 'He probably has a better hand than me', and that my reaction to this is 'If I bet big enough, he may fold'. This is not good.

Here's an analogy that I'm hoping I will find helpful. Villain's hand is like Schrodinger's Cat. Until you see it, there is a range of possibilities. I have to find a way of visualizing this. Mental imagery is important here I think. He doesn't have a hand, he has a range. Another thing to tattoo onto the inside of my eyelids. It's getting crowded in there.

A good analogy. You seem to definitely be going through some self-analysis at the moment, should be pretty +EV for you if you do something about it. I like the idea of "He doesn't have a hand, he has a range.".

nice analogy, but it is not completely the same case :f_p: .

villain really has one hand no matter if you look him up or not and you use the range concept only because you don't have the knowledge while the state of schrödinger's cat really is a superposition of dead/alive and the state changes to a pure dead or alive state only because you have looked! strange cat :f_biggrin:

The session was good. Had some more thought about that hand but will discuss more later.

From Villain/the cat's point of view, this is true, but from my point of view, there's no difference. Isn't this the philosophical stuff that made Einstein and Bohr face off at dawn with handbags swinging?

Perception vs. reality, I guess. I see no reason to go with a concept that for you is fundamentally identical to the truth and helps you get a mental picture better. I mean, even if an opponent's range is one hand, it's still a range, right? :P
