Have a nice Sunday. I hope it's raining less where you are than where I am.

LDO. _cool:

Not directed at you or chenny LDO. I hear it mainly rains fire and brimstone in your part of Mordor.

That's when having tough, hairy feet really comes in handy.

Edit: Just saw what I did there. :f_cool:

I think you should CBet on the flop as you will get value from worse A.

If you get 2 callers like in the hand I would prob c/f OTT as I wouldn't expect anything to bet 3 way but Qx. Ax will try to get to SD and there is no air (obv I was wrong as MP bets OTT w A7s).

The verdict is in. b/f flop, c/f turn is the winner. This makes sense. I was too busy going 'They both called?? They both called???!! Aaargh!' at the time. Plan if UTG 4bets? Panic? Depends on sizing? Small 5bet/fold? Shove, stop looking and then go change underpants? Maybe Manu's right and I should just sit out and come back if I get 200bb deep. God knows what effect playing 400bbs deep would have on me.

Last night I went to bed, then said 'Shit! I forgot to post about that hand that was bugging me.' and had to endure the sound of mrsjb rolling her eyes as I left. When I got back the conversation went something like....

Me: I'm glad I did that because it was really bugging me.
Mrsjb: Did you really go back and just write about a poker hand?
Me: Well, I was really deep, and I just sort of panicked, and couldn't work out what to do. I've never really played a deep, multiway 3bet pot OOP before.
Mrsjb: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (literally).

I'm sure my pillow talk didn't used to have that effect. Nvm.

vs the 4B. Panic, change your underpants, open a beer are all good options indeed. That would suck but 200deep vs utg I guess you can just fold. The only thing though is that you need to think ahead when you sqz. It is not necessarily bad to sqz/fold if you think that he will call a lot (as happened in the hand).

as for the deep part. Don't worry I panic/scream too when I 4B 300 deep and the guy min5B :f_biggrin: It is def an option to leave the table but I think it is also good to play deep to get to know how to play deep. ofc mistakes are costly ones but in the long run learning how to stack a fish w 300bb is niiiiiice

Unlike ihufa, I say make the squeeze 1-2bb bigger since you are deep with both.

Afterwards, it's really straight forward value cbet flop and go from there..

If anyone 4bets pre (esp UTG, MP doesn't make sense to 4bet now) they are very polarized and probably not weighted towards bluffs so I wouldn't mind just a fold.

The point of playing deep is to cover all worse players than you. In Zoom fish don't get too deep so you need to be sure you have solid edge on regs that don't rebuy to 100bb and play deep.

Next, you need position to take full advantage of this. When you 3bet OOP deep, the players IP can call most of their hands and take advantage of position with big stacks. Since in Zoom you always change position, you end up gambling a good seat vs a fish that is deep. This rarely happens since fish get stacked fast.

I would play deep at a normal table where I have a good seat meaning I take full advantage of being deep. If being deep puts me to a disadvantage I don't play on normal tables either. Stack depth at the table doesn't show how big your cock is..

Mainly good advice, as usual. Not sure about your cock size wisdom. I bet this bloke has a big stack.

Some good points Emmanuel.

but I don't care because one day I know I will show off with a 10BI stack and feel the power of dominating the zoom tables :f_cool:

I've always just sat out and rebought for 100bb whenever I get over the 200bb mark. Think I may stop doing this now, feel like im missing out on a lot of fun! Plus Dublimax has got me excited about the possibility of sitting with 1000bb and stacking a fish for 10BI. What, it could happen!

surely the average reg at nl25 isn't going to be a triple range merging light 6betting river check/shoving sicko. just play deep and punish EVERYONE for playing hands too straightforwardly imo.

Teach me how to be a triple range merging light 6betting river check/shoving sicko and I promise I not to steal your Skype again.

And next week, I'll be getting this album.

Guaranteed to put a broad smile on my face from the sound of it.

I took the night off poker to watch some of the new House with mrsjb last night. There was a bottle of wine in the fridge, so she was disappointed to have to share it with me in the absence of the yet to arrive cattle prod. After House, feeling a little bit drunk and ill (snotty nose, etc) I did what any sensible maths prof would do, and sat down to play some 8-game and 2-7 TD. Triple draw is an evil game. Shall I open this marginal shit UTG? Hic. Why not! Oh I got four callers. Draw, catch, call, draw, brick, call, draw, brick, fold. Rinse and repeat. Actually I think there's a lot of $$ to be made at micro stakes draw games just by playing tight, but Zooom has screwed up the patience lobe of my brain. Five hands in five minutes playing one 2-7 TD table, but 75 hands of Zooom in the same time? Please.

I've listened to the new North Atlantic Oscillation album twice now and have to say that it's deeply disappointing. They seem to have taken all the quirky, uplifting bits in the first album and replaced them with a sort of gloomy musical soup. I'm gutted. If I wanted to listen to melancholy electronica, Thom Yorke would always be my first port of call.

I think everyone's horrid at draw games, from minimal testing..
Sadly I'm not great either :(
Time to get back to studies on that one..

I remember you used to talk of how fast 5CD was, now everything's slow? Doesn't take long to change your perception of fast :)

Six tables of 5CD = four tables of Zoom, just because there are only two betting rounds, so that's still v fast. Everything else except 2-7 SD has four, and stud has five.

I think you have to  game theory to play the draw games.

Terrible session tonight. I think I played OK, but I just couldn't make a hand, and when I did, somebody made a better one. If you're trying to develop a style based on getting to showdown with the best hand and betting for thin value, you need to connect with the board sometimes. It's much harder to let go of that top pair or top two pair when you can smell a set if you've been missing the board time after time, and I just don't think you can go bluffing left right and centre when everyone likes to call. -5BI in the end, and I certainly think it could have been worse. Nvm. I'm sure I will heat up again soon.

Just to show you I can fold now.....

Villain is fairly tight, but with AF of 1.4 after 70 hands. If he's bluff raising the river, well played him, but I think he's almost always filled up here. Just because you and I wouldn't flat the turn with a set or two pair doesn't mean he wouldn't. Of course that lingering fear that he's an idiot with a King or a worse flush is what keeps me awake at night....... :f_cry:

What were his pre flop stats?

You need to be good about 22% of the time to make the call profitable.

It looks like KQ - most logical hand.

I think it's a good fold unless he plays wide enough pre to call with loads of mid range suited connectors in that spot.

A2s UTG? Not sure. Do you make it profitable?

Dibs on KQ too. These shoves annoy me and cost me alot of $ that I sigh fold 9/10 times. That said, I haven't played Zoom in about 3 weeks and I don't miss it
