Good luck! shiip it ♦!

Ok so Ive been to Dublin and played the main event, first of all it was a great experience in general however my seriuos run of bad card from the start of 2012 continued and I was unable to really get into my game

I won 1 pot in the 2nd level with pocket 9's where I ended up rivering a straight, I was then down to just 3k at the first break after level 4
I did manage to double up within the first 5 minutes of the restart when my AQs held up against K10s

I lost some blinds and antes again and was down to 4k and shoved with 9's after a raise from middle posstion the guy called with poket 3's to my delight and i was up to around 8.2k

I then lost 4k soon after and the next hand i got the rest all in pre flop with 77 but the guy next to be shoved over the top and turned AA to knock me out after just 4 hours of play

I then played the 60 euro turbo side event the next day and started ok winning a few pots but lost a big one soon after, I went all in a few hands later in the BB on a board of K45 with AQ against the SB and he called with K2s a 2 came on the turn and an A on the river

Overall it was a great weekend and if nothing else I gained more experience and hopefully i will be much better in the next big live tourney I play and maybe the cards will run a little better also.

I have been having a bad run since the start of the year in my live game and will be taking a break from it for the month of March, while I focus on building a decent bankroll on my Stars account

Well i havn't posted much in here as i was planning to keep it for live events but as I dont really go to many big events ill post in in here about any live MTT I play

I played a £20 2*£10 Rebuy and 1 £10 Add on tourney on Friday night with 40 entrants the prizepool ended up a nice round £1000 with the payout as follows

1st £510
2nd £250
3rd £150
4th £50
5th £40

the structure started of good but once the blinds went from 1000/2000 they got too big and everybody would have been considered a shortstack it went 2/4k, 3/6k, 4/8k, 5/10k, 10/20k and finally 20/40k, which I told the person running it, the jumps are too much and the tourney just becomes a lottery.

the starting stack was 12k and blinds started at 50/100 with an 18 minute clock

I had to rebuy after I 4bet all in with 10's and got called by AJo which of course rivered an A for a 27k pot and blinds at 300/600
I got a 10k stack for my rebuy and nothing seemed to be happening for me at all, until the last hand before the break I was down to 6k UTG and just shoved 3h4h I got called by AJs

I used my one time on the river and hit a 4 to double up I then added on 15k during the break and played solid check raising all in with Q9 on a 9 high flop against a huge donk putting up to 40k

We were then down to 10 players (8 make the final table) and I picked up 22 in the small blind (blinds 4k/8k) the Cut off raised to 18k and the button tanked for a minute and then called. I felt like I might be going to fold the best hand then decided to set mine as the hand before the player on my right had remarked how many times he has been dealt A2 recently so I made the call leaving myself with 28k behind

The first card out was a 2 followed by 4 7
I checked and the cut off shoved and the button tanked again before folding
I snap called and the cut off turned AQ and I doubled again

Anyhow I ended up finishing 3rd after A rebuy and an add on costing me a total buy in of $40. I was happy to finally make a decent cash and play a solid game as i havn't been winning much in live tourneys this year

My next tourney might be this friday if I decide to play and its a £30 FO with a similar payout. #rungood

All profit is good profit, right?

So a last minute decision worked out pretty well

I decided to play a £20 double chance tourney in town tonight, there ended up only 14 entrants with the payout as follows

1st £130
2nd £70
3rd £40
4th £10

£30 pound came out for reg and the league

im just gona make this short and sweet

I ended up spliting 1st and 2nd price money with my girlfriend so we took £100 each

not bad for being 20 mins late and on my birthday too!lol

im on a roll atm lol

At my local casino they won't let us buy-in even a minute late, which is dumb when its a re-buy tournament for the first 60mins...

just in case anybody is interested, I always update my twitter account when im playing live, chip counts, hands etc.

I played a £30 FO last night with a total prizepool of £540

18 players entered and I bubbled the final table

I was short stacked and got it in with K9s on the button
the BB called and showed 77 I hit my 9 on the flop but the next card was a 7 he then hit quads on the turn and that sealed my fate

unlikley ill play again until the 24th now apart from the home game im playing tonight, hopefully ill get back my losses at least

So, the 24th... what're you playing? The Goliath?

I won a satellite on Boylepoker tonight into the international poker open being held in dublin in October

It is a 230 euro buy in with about 200-300k prizepool

im really looking forward to it now

Good luck with this tournament. I am from Bulgaria and in the town I live still there are not that much good live tourneys. Casinos have 6-7 poker tables most so it's just no point. Gotta play some EPT one day ♦

at least you have a casino to go to mate, where I live in N.Ireland poker is illegal.

The tourneys I play locally are just small buy in tourneys played in local football clubs, pubs etc and there has been times when the police have came in and shut the game down.

I wish there were a few casinos and poker clubs nearby so I could play higher buy in tourneys and NLHE cash games, I have to go to the south of Ireland for that and the IPO will be only the 2nd big live tourney I have played. Thats why im trying to push the legalise poker NI and the Northern Ireland Poker Federation on poker forums as to help make poker legal here. Check out the thread here on the forum and sign the petition, the more names the better.

Just a quick update about my live tourney of Friday night

I started ok and lifted a few chips early but then my stack just got smaller as I could not pick up a strong enough hand against all the calling stations and had to fold when I knew I was behind as it can be impossible to get these players to lay down a hand

I finally got my last few BB's in with top pair on the board against a flush draw and he hit on the river to knock me out finishing 15th from 22

Playing the same tourney tonight that i finished 3rd in recently

hoping to go further this time a take 1st place that should pay about £500

wish me luck

well I didnt win the tourney tonight!

i was playing well and with 16 players left from 40 entrants i 3bet all with 9's and the guy who raised had AA so he doubled and i lost half my stack.
next hand I called a bad playyer down with 2nd pair and it was good getting my stack back to 100k

15 minutes later the cut off shoved 67k (blinds 4k/8k) into my big blind and after a minute I made a very good call with 6's as I had owed this guy all night he turned 10s 2s and he rivered a flush. I was then down to 25k i folded my sb and shoved my button with 9's got called by A10 and an A hit the flop puting me out in 12th place

very unlucky in the end but if I get my chips in with the best hand thats all I can do, if the 6's hand goes my way I think I make the money easy but YOU GOTTA WIN THE FLIPS TO WIN TOURNEYS!

I really shouldn't have said anything and waited to see if you told of me check raising the sh1t outa you with air and calling you down with K high etc..

Its about time I updated this since Friday nights game

It was a £30 FO with 21 players.

I think it had the best structure out of all the games I have been playing recently and the starting stack was 23k

I think I played well although just hanging in waiting for a hand. Then I got it, funny thing is it was against Sabo999 from the forum here

I was BB with J9o and the Button (sabo999) raised to 4.6k if i remember correctly and the blinds were 1200/2400 I think this was a mistake by him as he didn't realise the blinds had gone up but I call and and so did the CO

the flop came 9 high with two spades I checked, the CO bet out 3.6k, Sabo999 thought for a minute asking me how much I had left behind then just called
I then shoved 21k after thinking I was way ahead as I didnt think Sabo999 would just call with a bigger pair here the Co folded and then Sabo999 tanked for another minute and called with AK. My pair of 9's held up and I won a big pot

Shortly after, the final table was reached and at one point I had about 100k in chips, but it was all swings and round abouts until I got knocked out in 5th place
the CO raised and me on the button shoved with KQo the small blind then reshoved and the CO folded

of course the SB turned AA and the flop came 7 A 7 turn 10 river J
(one different card on the flop and I hit an amazing runner runner straight to double :()

It was a good tourney and I played fairly well roll on the next game because its getting shipped!
