Hi Dr.D, I've had a few of those lately as well. ♦

I think it's move up when you feel ready, rather than just because you feel you should, i.e., the bankroll says you have more than enough buyins. That's what taking shots does, gives some breathing space.

You wont be long though, I think.

i agree! i don't regret shooting at nl20 even though i did lose a bunch of money.. i feel like i will be better prepared for next time but only time will tell.

this is zoom, so had little info. over 23 hands he's been 3betting a fair amount but he can easily just be running hot. when he flats the 4bet preflop i expect him to just 5bet ship QQ+.. sure he can trap with AA but i think he can also play this way with other hands like 99/TT/JJ, AK and maybe even AQ, but i can't say for sure. i assumed i was ahead - AA imo is just a cooler.

on the flop i decided to go for a check/jam, but obviously he checks behind on the turn i decide to bet small to induce from a weaker hand.. and once he calls im pretty sure i'm ahead here. the river did worry me for a moment but since checking didn't seem to make much sense while he can still have weaker hands i decided to bet small again to get called or raised by as much of his weaker range as possible. maybe i should have just shipped..... but i'm just experimenting.

KK hand, hes 3betting an UTG raiser from UTG+1!!, his range has to be pretty strong/ nutty,for that reason, Id 4bet bigger to like $3 hoping to get it in.

Bet the flop. you said so yourself he could have 99/TT/JJ in his range. and also to protect v AK.

as played, think you could go bigger on the river ~$4.50

I just think there is way more value in 4betting bigger and betting flop etc. 1/2flop, 1/2 turn, ship river ♦

The KK hand: I like how you played it but I think you can bet it a big bigger ott. If he's calling $2, he'll probably call $2,5 as well. It just looks soo much like you're stabbing the pot. Then bet the river small like you did.

i agree also! i was experimenting tho and i thought i might be able to get more value this way as opposed to just bombing the flop turn and river and hoping to get paid by worse

UPDATE

So this week has gone well. Not. Didn’t really play too much tbh. FTP comes back and I started playing the play money tables like a boss and busting people’s rolls like a boss :f_cool:. Software is amaze. The reason why I haven’t played much is because I’ve been doing lots of thinking about what to do in the near future, applying to jobs and been looking at masters degrees and considering all the costs involved etc and I’m pretty interested in a few places but there’s lots to think about with that.

So back to poker, I cashed out from unibet and into party to take advantage of the new bonus. Seems that to clear my bonus I need to play a shit load for the next 90 days so pretty excited about that… Oh and I have to do it at nl25 otherwise it will take me years. So with my $720 bankroll I have decided it’s time to try and keep my cool at the next limit.

Results for all hands I have played at nl20/nl25 (mix of $ and €):

It really does suck a lot to lose like that when moving up, and today went shitty as well but I'm just gunna stick it out and try to play my game because most of those hands were just tilty spew. I can always build it back up and if i fail THAT much at the next limit then I could probably do with the practice back at nl10 to build back up. My number 1 fear is to move up, run bad, move down, run bad again and just slowly lose my roll but i have to take the risk i think.

So goals for the following week are:

yep totally overplayed. got caught up in the moment and made a bad decision. my options here are folding or raising and i figured with a fish in the hand i should just get some money in while im probably ahead. well, after the hand i realised the better option is just calling for set value. folding is too weak imo and here im really not in good shape if i 4bet... and i 4bet and folded which is with QQ! ♦
