Bonus cleared??

HotShot Poker Adventure -> Complete.

That's right. After a pretty nice 3 months spent there, with kind of a low volume played (for the reason stated in my signature) it's over.

Began playing there on 1st of September 2009. After just about 70,000 hands on NL10 and NL20 , I ended up clearing most of the bonus and with a pretty decent profit.

I deposited 240$ . After half the way I reached 800$ , moved to NL20 , and ended with 1300$ (a 1060$ profit - pretty good for a lazy fish like me) .

Didn't manage to clean all bonus, 30$ left, but , hey , I had to withdraw, so that I can deposit on Cake before 1st of December.

No rakeback - So forget about it!

Everything could have been easier...

... if I kept all my available money I had on the internet. BUT , I really needed a new computer, so I bought myself one with about 350$ and withdrew about 350$ for Winter Holidays (no way I could have gone through them with my parents pocket money ) . So instead of starting with a 2k capital, I'll have to grind my way to 2000$ which means taking shots at NL50.

The most important goal : put 1000$ aside till the 1st of October 2010 to pay my second year at Uni and make at least one small'ish withdrawal every 2-3 months for pocket money, so I don't have to work.

This being said... I'll be back when the next adventure/challenge/story begins.

You heard it. Cake frickin' poker ain't giving me no rakeback. Apparently I can only have one rakeback account on the whole network , which would be HotShot.

Am I the only one that does not understand this poor btards way of thinking ? I mean, how is that rule any good to all the other sites besides the one you get rakeback on. Its just a waste of potential clients like me .

Rakeback is supposed to be an essential tool for a kind of high volume cash game player , right ? ... This brings me here :

Greetings, everyone! So , all the good things I ever said about Cake Network ... I take back! And Cake Network is history for me. Unfortunately, PokerStrategy is history for me too.

I'm not going to be tracked by PS because my sudden plans took me in a whole different place.

So, what's new ? You might wonder.

1. I made a 6 months subscription on a poker coaching site (don't know if I can't tell the name of the site , so I won't) .
2. I moved my remaining bankroll on NoiQ poker, that is 720eur with 100% bonus and 30% rakeback. That makes 50 days of 50% rakeback.
3. I will not play FR anymore. I'll play only SH, NL20 to begin. I will 4 table at first, maybe 6 table later on, but we'll see.
4. I WILL finally use my PokerTracker 3 , which I got after a promotion on a different site. For now, this program beats the hell out of me, but I hope with some guidance I'll manage to use it, and that means I will post graphs in here.
5. VIP points will be used to play sattelites for some big tournaments.

My schedule would be something like this...

- 4 to 6 hours per day of poker. 1 to 3 hours for study. Nothing more, nothing less. VoI will still be of major importance!
- hit the gym almost every day till Christmas to keep myself in a good shape.
- study something for school.

New goals! both short and long term.

- reach 2000eur and move to NL50 (long term)
- play at least 50,000 hands in December
- +200 VoI in December
- clear at least 300eur of my bonus (50days)
- read a psychology book (long term) .

Might add some more as I go on ...

Hello to all my fans .

Short update. First two days of this month went like this :

- 1 very nice and productive intructional video
- 3 articles read
- accomodation with the new site and PT3 (which is awesome)
- ~1300 hands played

That makes for +10 VoI

Some timely conclusions.

- I suck hard at 6-max (FR killed my style of playing)
- I have about a ton of leaks
- I need to put in more volume
- I love playing on the new site + PT3 , looking forward to improving my game and actually winning something.

Challenge stands on : 50.000 hands in 50 days (1318/50k completed)

I think fold on turn is okay against osme opponents but I wouldnt do it, I would prob ch/call or htought about folding, it owuld depends on the river card, on J River I would really consider folding ..... and would prob fold, or maybe on J river I may probebet it and fold

Well.. i just came from school and had some beers afterwards so... i might talk some bullshit here ♦ but imho..

1. hand.. why check/fold?=) i mean.. why?=) some special read? value bet until they tell you you are behind man

2. hand.. its BU vs SB so... 3bet pot.. i would 3bet the flop and get it in.. he can have overpair, two pair.. combo draws.. overpair with FD.. i mean calling on that flop... to check/call non clubs turns and check/fold club turns? or were you waiting for FH? his raise on that flop can be any two no real need to be scared imho..
On that river i guess bet/fold is better than check/call

3. hand..

well.. i guess calling minraise pf is ok.. on that flop i would let him cbet.. he can cbet that flop against two with air.. your hand cant stand too much action though.. its opponents dependant of course so we dont have all information about those player... donking doesnt have to be worse choice..

The turn is opponent dependant.. if he is stacking there with AK-AJ then why calling? If you decide to call that turn you pretty much go for pot control/bluff induce.. but that kinda goes against your river action =))

4. hand..
Well since we dont know ur opponent at all there isnt much to comment... but that small raise... thats pretty much a bluff.. you are in position so maybe just call and see his action on the turn.. ppl play so straightforward on the turn..
If he calls the flop he has some piece of it.. im not sure about that push because we dont know villain.. but pretty crazy ♦

My question here is ... same as in the A 8 hand , is there a time to fold top two pair in situations like this ? Or I should always stick it in regardless of the opponent ?

I think in the QQ hand I would have probably gone all in on the flop as well, however, if it continued to the turn and that 7 came up a fold would be seriously considered. But you (and JQ and fakedurrr) are all much more experienced than me so don't take too much notice of me

Greetings everyone! Here's what I have for you today ...

Yep, that says it all. Playing as I play , and losing some nasty hands , IT got me. And it wasn't the kind of tilt, where I'm all angry and everybody plays bad and I keep paying them out. No no, it was that smooth tilt, the one that you refuse to see it , even though for an outsider it's very obvious. And all this mess brought me to a beautiful loss of 100eur (aka 5BI) .

But as I say ..."You have to be DOWN in order to get UP." And UP I got ...

There always has to be a good part, am I right ? Even from the bad things we can't get better at what we do unless we find the good part and make it work for us...

So, after being down to about 580eur (-140eur) , I stopped , I slaped myself over the face , took a deep breath and looked for a change.

And now, for my theory...

Even from the beginnings of lets call it "my poker career" (~3years ago) , I never used any kind of helping software, coaching subscription, or anything like that ... I was the simplist type of guy. At one point I was even against such software (what a douche! ) . But anyhow, even without any help, I did good... I won about 5-6k$ just playing on the microlimits (never above NL20 and never tournaments higher than 5$ - except the one I qualified through satelites) .

And now ... I began watching all this videos, reading all this articles, with soooo many concepts and key words and stuff, my head got spinning . Don't get me wrong, all these things are great, I got most of them, I try to use them ... and some are essential in poker, but oh well, that's just how it went with me ...

So, starting to play with PT3 open , I suddenly had all this statistics on the table, and had to be aware of them, and that's not a bad thing... except, I got too aware of them. At one point, I got to see I had a very small 3bet percentage, and I was something like "Oh no, I need to 3 bet something cause this is not right ..." , not to say that when I was getting in a big hand against a good regular I was more wet than a phillipino pussy.. and by doing this I deviated from my own game and my own style (which was a winning style at one point) .

Another factor , I really take into consideration after today's sessions is Music! I mean, it's all cool when playing normally and having no troubles, but once I get into some tough spots, and after some bad decisions, music seems to keep it going that way, not allowing me to concentrate as much as I'd want. Untill today I was thinking that I couldn't play poker without music ... from today on , I'm giving up music while playing poker!

Altough I had another sucky day , the end was pretty nice, I managed to stop, find some major leaks and the last 500 hands for today were played without giving more attention than necessary to HUD stats and without music AND with full concentration and the result = COMFORT ZONE , A-GAME or whatever I might call it . I won 40eur without one single play for the whole stack , the "money $ won without showdown" went UP, above the line , I was having profit on every table, and for the first time till I moved to NoiQ and started playing 6-max, I felt CONFIDENT!

I guess the next couple of sessions will show if this was just one big shit talk or I really found a change in my game and mentality.

Sorry for the long boring post, I know nobody will read it and who will , will wish he wouldn't have done it but I had to take all out of me so that I can have a good night sleep and not dream PT3 stats and graphs, and furious monkeys that kick my ass at the poker table ♦ .

Confidence is very important, no doubt.. Dont push yourself into anything.. I mean articles and videos should help you to find some leaks that you were not aware of, it shouldnt break your style ..

I feel like I play better ...results say otherwise.

So, my feeling on the last couple of days is that I can survive this limit. But still there are some major mistakes I make ... which combined with a bit of bad luck kept me going down. Anyhow , hopefully I'll manage to get up before reaching 400eur (->going back to NL10 ) .

The good news is that I started taking down more pots and stopped losing all those little pots that were killing me both financially and mentally .

Should I slow down on the turn ? I mean ... isn't slowing down a sign of weakness ? And keeping the aggresion pretty much comits me, cause I guess I even had the pot odds to make that call ...

I still have hope for my NL20 6-max future. Hopefully I'll manage to climb my way back up to at least 700eur till the end of the month!

So, I've kept telling myself and the ones around me that my game is getting better, and accomodation period is in its end. Confidence is the word ... Aggresive is the style ... Upswing is the 'result' .

8k hands later (2 straight days with profit - that's a first! ) ...

So, hopefully the next couple of days will take me above that stupid 0 line and maybe I do have a chance at this limit after all (which with volume and rakeback and other promotions could mean decent living through Uni without having to work. )

I've got some more plans, but I'll explain all that tomorrow, probably with the pic, joke and song thingy
