Ive adopted this play style over the course of 85k hands so far and the win rate isnt too bad but now I'm moving up, I do think I need to adapt vastly. Excluding the decisions pre flop (which I know I need to change considerably), I still stand by my play post flop.
Got a bit tired towards the end and was running into some good hands through sheer carelessness but happy I turned it back around, hopefully my downfall won't happen again. I think I'm gonna stick on NL10 until I get rid of my bad habits as its a good place to make sure I have a good tight aggressive mixture.
For the mental part i seriously recommend 'the mental game of poker' it does wonders for my game in a lot more ways thinkable.

Just constantly up and down. I cant remember the last time my AA or KK has won a hand to be honest. Very quite confident this is just pure bad luck. I'm gonna take a break and hopefully this up and down swing stops soon enough.

Mostly all my loses have been those who have hit lucky flops with their pocket pairs. I just refuse to believe people can get this lucky. I've played alot of hands so far in this journey and this has never happened to me at such a level like it has done recently. I'm quite surprised my loses aren't higher. I'm clearly gonna have to change how I play pocket pairs in the later stakes because I'm raising it too low pre flop. At this point I'd rather take down the pot pre flop than have to chance the rest of the hand now because clearly these pocket pairs aren't profitable when you raise them too low preflop for action.
Just to add salt on the wound, the guy made the four of a kind for his one card left and I can't ever make my two cards lol

I don't like cold call 3bet on SB with kings, we get this better odds to call CO and in 3way action without position it is not comfortable post flop.

Aknowledge your EV line is going down and you are running above EV. Hit the books mental and theory. Don't take a break but try to understand how and why you feel this frustration aka tilt. This will be big step. I made it myself recently and it leads to a lot more work but hey i feel you're in it for the long run?

Okay maybe now I'm considering if I can handle carrying on with this challenge. Before today I had accumulated $330 from NL10. Surely thats not a fluke? I've now dwindled down to $175 from NL10. I wasn't tilted. I just played the same as I had done since I started NL10. It wasn't me playing the whole 8 hours, I did eat in between and stuff. I'm not tired. Every single decent hand I had hit, someone else had better, the whole time. Even the times where I was betting HARD to throw them off the hand, they would somehow get runner runner flush despite me betting hard to throw them off.
The premuim hands that I was getting... tight and aggressive right? I was just missing the whole time. At very best I'd get two pair and my world would get wrecked with someone hitting trips.
I even raised HIGH with KK and someone calls like 20bb with 78s and flops a straight? absolutely insane.
My pocket pairs dont hit whatsoever throughout the whole day.. Everytime I did have good hands, they were short stackers and gave me hardly anything.
YES, I made some mistakes but not enough to warrant this vast downswing. You can literally see that the graph didn't go up whatsoever significantly throughout the session. I wasn't massively tight as you can see from 25% - I think my range was just right. I've written down all the mistakes to avoid in the future but yeah down 15 Buy Ins. My PFR could have been better but thats due to the fact I didnt want to outright bluff you know? You cant be aggressive if you just missed the entire flop - thus the low PFR. You can see from my non showdown remaining the same that I was just purely being wrecked at showdown every single time.
I've just started university, so I think being at nearly $500 is fine, 50 buy ins for in the future but I think I need to concentrate on real life and take a short break, read some books to make sure I'm doing the right thing etc.

My luck seems brutal and seems like yours is the same! Just use this time to work on your weaknesses. We will get there in the end.
Not happy with the results of today but profit is profit. I'm still making a lot of mistakes and losing profits in areas, as today could have been a much more profitable session. I'll keep at it and keep building my bankroll. $1000 will be my main goal.
On the plus side GBP is doing very badly, therefore all my poker money has significantly gone up in value, so now has never been such a good time to grind poker.

Haha yes maybe I’m slightly dramatic and apologies for that but I don’t handle variance too well. If you go back I had a bad moment before but I eventually come around. It does help me to identify my weaknesses because honestly 50% of it was probably variance for sure but 50% of it could have been avoided through my emotion control. I’m working on it and thanks for your comment! I’m hopefully back on track now

My estimated EV went down considerably because I did a classic 50/50 flip with a short stack. It was 100% worth it, even if I lost. I didnt want to bet and get stuck on future streets, it was better to just go all in. Sometimes I think the reduced EV decisions are the best decisions.
