10,000 HANDS REACHED!!!

A nice little target to have reached in only 2 weeks (5 or 6 days of which i played none at all) so its nice to have that little milestone under my belt!

Also, I crossed that line with a very nice winning session, close to 4BI which is always nice for the confidence levels. I felt that i played pretty well, Obviously had some nice cards to help me but i felt that this session was a winning one rather than a break even one because of my FOLDS!!

A couple times i had JJ/QQ and faced 3/4 bets only to see A or K or both hit the flop and made the crying fold to the nits.

Before this session i also read chapter 6 of The Poker Mindset, which is about tilt and ways to recognise and stop it. This helped a lot because i could have lost my cool a few times with some ugly beats earlier. This book is fantastic for giving you a kick up the arse and making you play A1 poker, psychologically.

Had a great day palying poker today, felt really in charge of how i played and how i felt at the tables! I worked hard, took lots of notes, posted hands in the evaluation forums for Veriz to take a look at, read some poker material.

All in all, a good day for my illustrious poker career!

I just cant wait for my new laptop to arrive so i can finally start saving my HH and get a HUD and stuff! Take things more seriously! This made me happier as it completed some SD out there.

Bit of a frustrating couple sessions earlier BUT I still finished 2BI's up at te end of it! It was a case of spells of playing badly or grtting unlucky (see hand later) then spells of good play and some run good! Bit of a mix really!

I'm still finding certain thing a struggle, if I standard c-bet and get called, unless I hit I feel like villain is just betting it off me' on the river cause I check behind to see a free card! Maybe this is too weak!

Once I have my own laptop (which is hopefully soon) I'll be able to get lots if hands in the evaluation forums! And i will also have a HUD so I'll be able to check certain spots where I felt weak or unsure where I was, so I can find out why!!

And i am very excited for it to come because it kinda means the start of me 'properly' playing poker.

I'll be able to save hand histories, buy/download software that i need such as HEM/PT3, Equilab, Table Ninja, Camtasia etc etc

It also means I'll be able to play whenever I like, cause at the minute, if my gf needs to to study, then its only fair she has to as she needs it, but this one will be all mine, to play and play! And Play!!!

Also, i'll be able to skype people for sweat sessions and send videos of my play to my mates to anaylse.

Its a whole new era for my poker career!

This is todays graph and as you can see, it was one of those days. One of those days where you hit top set and the board is 4 to a flush and an all-in from the rock. To be fair, I have just started a 60 day free trial with PT3 and I've never used a HUD before so it took me a while getting used to it, it was somewhat of a distraction until i got used to it.

I've also got hands to post that i 'marked for future review' but i cant seem to find where they go! if anyone can help me out with that and I can get some hands up here, and also in the hand evaluation forums!

Day actually ended in a fairly respectable profit, in terms of bb/100.

Dunno about poker tracker but on Holdem Manager there's a box you can tick called 'show only marked hands' in the tab that normally shows all of your hands and that's how you look over marked hands. Probably something similar for poker tracker.

Looking forward to watching this blog. I'm about to get back into poker (starting on the 8th) so will be good to compare my progress to yours.

For the marked hands:
Reports tab, select Holdem cash hands in section drop down menu and then marked hands in the report drop down menu.

@fryandspicy - welcome aboard mate! glad to have ya following! I'm similar, this is the N-th time i have started again, but this time I have a strategy in my head, ive been reading, studying, posting hands - anything I can do to get better.

I managed to join the BSS school with Veriz and co. which should be cool. If anything to make more friends who i can talk to about poker. I'm sure i will learn a lot from them also.

Poker terms I havnt played today as I was at work and then it was such a nice evening in Manchester that we decided to have a bbq, but i stayed off the beers cause i knew i wanted to grind some tonight. So we will see how that goes.

Some may disagree with my line here but he saw me button raise quite a bit so his 3-bet pre-flop was an attack of that, not a strong hand. C-bet was 100% as said so i floated in position and he gave up the turn.

The reason for the push was i didnt want to bet 1/2 or 2/3 pot and him to come over the top all in on a bluff, which i saw him do before this hand and he showed it.

As said many times before, there are so many variables in poker that on this occasion, this paly worked and 98% of the time i would have just folded pre flop to a 3-bet with KQo

Ive either had no action with big hands or a run into set or bigger hands! Not much fun at all

Some of it was ofcourse a bit of tilt, but a lot of it was just bad luck. Im running well below EV at the minute

But because I dont have a large enough sample, I can tell if my winnings are just good luck, and im actually a losing player, or break even player or a winning player suffering short term bad luck!

Its hard to tell really.

Dint worry about it, this month is just about getting into the swing of things. A break even month is totally fine!ul learn so much that you can take to next month, ul be able to look back and spot loads of places u shouldn't have lost money, places that seem insignificant at the time but when looked at in the long term add up to winning months. Sony be disheartened just keep plating tour best and it will fall into place! Keep her lit my friend!

Cheers for the words of encouragement man! It's always hard when you are ona bit of a losing streak to look for the long term, ist much easier to focus on short term results and feel shit about them

Today has went a lot better, I did the Silver River-Value quiz and got 35/36 which was nice, and i watched a ge5sterne video on BSS FR NL5 which was good! help me with my mindset a bit as well as he was mainly jsut saying play ABC poker at micro stakes.

It also helps being dealt AA about 9 times and doubling up 3 times with them haha! always nice!

Got the 1st couaching session with the beginner poker school tonight which im looking forward to, should be interesting to see what Veriz and Hasenbraten have come up with!

I took a day off playing yesterday to relax my mind a bit, i studied though! read some bronze articles and one 'flop-play' sliver one! I made silver again for next month so ive got loads of time to read more silver articles!

I was in the mind $40s again, for the second time after being close to $80 twice, so i guess it just fucked with my head a bit. I need to not play when tilted! I always think my mindset is pretty good and i can always laugh off the 1st couple suckouts but after a while it does get to me - something i need to get a grip with!

Harrington on Holdem: cash games. I have vol1 and vol2 so if u ever make a trip home you can borrow them. Very good read, easily understandable material with an in-depth coverage of the fundamentals. Keep the head down, nl5 is only a few winning sessions away. Moving up a limit after 2/3 months is very fast and your still in month 1 so keep it going!

Just got a new job which is definatly +EV!!!!!

Its nearly TWICE £££ what im on now and its 4 days on and 4 days off which means plenty of time to grind and learn!

I'm well chuffed and excited for it!

not sure about the 77 play, although yeah thats just ridiculus. id be opting for a raise pre flop, even from the small blind to try and start building a flop, and you also then have the lead if u get flatted by 1/2 guys and flop a good c-betting board. played the way u played here, most time u wont get any action and just take down a small pot which obviously isnt what your after when flopping top set. obviously depending on the player i probably would have flatted him when he 3 bet the flop. micro stakes players would rarely raise with a flush draw etc on the flop so when he raises u there ur not overly worried about another club hitting the turn. if u 4 bet he'll give u 2 pair our of the sb and villain will fold most of the time. if u just flat u can check and let him donk his money off on the turn. just my thoughts!keep her lit!

Great session tonight - had a sick amount of premium holdings and managed to gain qutie a few BI's. My 1st session today was a bit messy, as i kept having to sit out and answer the door, or sort something out etc so i couldnt settle down and play for a few hours and finished a bI down or so

But tonight has made up for it. Please with how i played during most of the session. A couple times i made moves that i maybe shouldnt have but that paid off - i will try and learn from these - i have posted a load of hands in the hand evaluation bit of the new 'beginners poker school'

Its quite cool in there, Veriz is a to guy and always willing to help out, and theres qutie a few regs in the school that help out anytime they are online, so its a nice wee community they put together really

I've played about 12K hand this month, which for me and my work life, is pretty good. I'm 6 tabling at the moment (full-ring in case i didnt mention earlier) so for me this is good volume.

I've decided not to post my winnings at the bottom of my blog any more as I'm gonna try and not be as results-orientated any more! More just look to keep on improving and making the best decision possible for the moment, and hopefully the money will just tick along nicely.

After that hand above 'i had already hit "the sit out next blind" button i was a bit fuming at his turn call, so it kinda worked out i was quitting, so i went and grabbed a shower, and while there i thought that i should post some hands up tonight, cause todays session was just varience and no real need to be pissed off. So im glad i did that and had the mindset to get myself out of my funk, and post shit loads of hands for the evaluation forums!

Got my homework in nice and early so i can grind hard all weekend - unfortunatly im working all day sunday so tomorrow and saturday wil have to be my days to grind.
