I'll hopefully join for Birmingham 2013 :f_biggrin: Although Birmingham is no Vienna, I guess it'll still be a good laugh!

November review

Let's check what was planned for November:

-Maintaining the private coachings in the first half of November, growing in that area in the second half of November.

Done, very satisfied with it.

-I will be starting some new projects together with pokerstrategy, watch the news closely to find out about them.

The projects got delayed a bit, but one will start soon and one has started already. I have planned a new video series so that's good.

-Poker-wise, I am going to focus on improving my game a lot in the next 2 weeks and also putting in some volume throughout the month (maybe 30k hands? we'll see).

This was bad. I did improve my game a bit, worked on my preflop skills, but the volume wasn't really there. 4.8k/30k . It would me pretty pointless to put in volume if I didn't improve while doing it, so in the future I am only going to play as much as I need to apply the new things that I learn.

I didn't manage to watch 1 video each week, but it's not a big deal since my priorities have changed a little bit throughout the month. I would say that I did manage to maintain and slightly improve my game over the last month, fixed some bigger leaks, but it was nothing extraordinary.

Money-wise, I've spent a lot of money in Vienna + on Christmas presents + GF's birthday. I did however still manage to make a profit despite all that spending and also making a pretty big loss in poker. Profit was around $200, so I'm at about $1.9k now.

Overall, I am pretty satisfied with the month. I've definitely improved my private coachings, managed to organize myself a bit better, learned how to set better goals, learned a thing or two about poker, went to Vienna where I've met tons of interesting people and made good connections.

December...?

In december, I want to:

-Work successfully on the pokerstrategy projects
-Finish the new video series
-Play at least one short session of poker at least 25 days.
-Learn as much poker theory that I can apply something with each session that I play
-Increase my energy levels by investing a lot of time into exercising

Luckily, I have already bought all the christmas presents that I wanted to buy in Vienna, so there should be rather few costs in December. This means there'll be a nice opportunity for profit :).

My morning ritual

Hey guys,

I want to share with you my current morning ritual, because I believe that it's really effective :).

First of all, I wake up after about 8-9 hours after going to bed. I usually get woken up by my super-loud radio or by my phone, which i put on the other end of my room.

The first thing that I do is let the sunlight inside my room, which begins to wake me up and prevents me from going back to bed. I also go to the kitchen and drink a glass of cold water, which also helps with waking up.

Then, I go and have a hot bath in the bathroom. This is a habit that I've been doing for a long time now and is kind of my time to wake my mind up. Sometimes I would use this time just for visualizing my day, and other times I would read a book which would wake my brain up.

The next step is putting some awesome party music on the radio which:
-wakes me up as it's really hyped
-reminds me of the things that I want in my life and provides a motivation kick in the morning

When I turn on my music, I'm ready to really wake up. I do the convict conditioning (bodyweight exercises) to wake my body up as well.

Then of course it's breakfast time. I keep the music playing, make a breakfast and some green tea, eat that while listening to the music and then dress up and go to the office.

The office is quite far away, so I drive there by car. However, I don't park near the office, I park 1-2km away. This enables me to have a nice walk to the office. If the weather is nice, I go to the office with rollerskates. On the whole way to the office, I usually listen to some audiobooks.

When I get to the office, I already have a feeling that I've done something already (reading a book, strength exercises, a bit of cardio, listening to an audiobook) and am really motivated to start working on the important things.

So that's how I wake up :). How do you guys wake up? Do you have any specific rituals?

This is nice one, ideal wake up and day starting ritual! I'm jealous!

My ritual:

  • 3 weeks ago and prior to that:
Sleep on average 5h during the night. In the morning I hear alarm on my phone. Postpone it 2-3 times. Wake up in the last moment. Quickly dress up, brush my teeth and run to catch a bus for work.
  • Starting 2 weeks ago:
Sleep on average 7h during the night (Trying to sleep at least 7h). Wake up 1 hour before bus to work. Dress up. Drink glass of water. Prepare breakfast and a cup of coffee, consume it slowly and enjoy it, the aroma(smell), the taste. Brush my teeth. Remaining time, approximately 10min, just sit in kitchen and think all kind of things(nothing specifically).

Still a lot to improve, but for sure its better than it was before. :]

My morning ritual:

Wake up in the dark after 6 hours sleep
Snooze alarm 3 times
Get up
Make a coffee and go outside to drink it to make me feel less zombie-like
Drive to work.

I feel like I have some work to do in that respect :f_biggrin:

in the following weeks, I am going to release a series of short videos called Learning to Learn, which will really help you get most of the time that you put into learning.

The videos will be short, about 10 minutes each, so that you really will not have an excouse not to watch them ;).

You can find the first video of the series here:
-Learning to Learn: Introduction + Learning to focus

Enjoy!
