Difficult to said, but I expect most players will min-raise on the flop with 2 pair or set of 22 after the limp pre-flop. In best case you’re dealing with a flush draw. Off course you have some fishy players that take this line with weaker Kx hands. That’s why I’m not so happy with your 3 bet on the flop, because than you isolate against better hands and if he shoved your pretty much hoping he played a flush draws now.

Further I recommend raising pre-flop to 120. This way you get a little bit more value of AKo and you don’t give him to good odds to call with his entire range.

What do you think?

Pre-flop you can consider to 3 bet with JJ. If you do that you need to make it around 400 in total and than you need to call a shove of MP+1 player. Your call is fine to, but than you need to play cautious post-flop, because your playing in a multi-way pot. On this flop I’m checking and evaluate what your villains will do. If you want to bet I recommend betting a lot smaller. A bet of 250 is big enough. Than you have still room to fold if you get a lot of action after your bet.

Pre-flop I’m raising 120 in total. This way your get more value of your JJ. I always raise 3bb+1bb for every caller on 15/30 blind level.
On flop your raise is fine. Maybe you can bet a little bit more.
Turn I check too. You get only action of better if you bet here.
River is close, but on his small bet I’m calling to.

Should i fold the turn?

Flop is already close. The MP+2 player raised pretty big here. I expect he will do it with over pairs, sets, KJ, AJ and in best case with a flush draw. Also you don’t close the action, but I expect BB will fold a lot of the time here. Without reads I’m most likely fold flop already. As played I fold the turn for sure. I don’t expect he will continue with worse now, because he could know your playing at least a J like this.

Cheers,
SDK1987

Is 3betting against 2 opponents good? After one opponent shove if the other one would have called can i still make a call?

On a raise and a call is a 3 bet fine I think. I’m 3 betting 4x (240) in a spot like this. It’s also a good option to play AKo passive pre-flop by calling for pot control and than you can fold post-flop if you missed in multi way pot. As played your most likely flipping most of the time and you have to much invest to fold any more. Than I call as well.

How would you play this?

Pre-flop calling in position is fine. Other option is to push, but than you need to be sure that SB will fold enough to make a shove profitable and that’s most likely not the case in a 50c STT.

As played is it difficult to make a good sizing to get money in without committing yourself on turn. In this case with flush on board it’s little bit better to bet around 600 and shove the turn, but your line is not to bad as well.

Cheers,

So, i believe is time to give this blog a new purpose, the one of motivating me to become better. I am not good at writing my thoughts or sharing my past with others but i believe this is the only way of improving myself.

As some of you may know at the start of this blog i didn't give too many info about me or my overall plans so let's start now. As you already know i'm romanian. I finished highschool in 2012 and started the Faculty of History (my passion since chilhood) in my hometown. Since then my plans didn't worked as expected. In fact, last year i dropped out because i just had too many failed exams (most of them because i even didn't go; in fact in my second and last year of faculty i've been there no more then 1 month). In that period of time i started again to practice karate kyokushin and after a few months i've been promoted to assistant instructor (our club had more dojos mainly for kids around the city runned by advanced practitioners - me beeing one of them). I've did this for a year and a half and somewhere in the beginning of 2014 me and the main instructor started to have different oppinions on certain points. So, in july 2014 i quited. It was kind a tough decision for me because i cared a lot for the kids i trained, but this is it. Not long after this, in octomber, i dropped out faculty. Since match 2014, until december i also practiced brazilian jiu-jitsu (i recommended to anyone, great sport). So, for the last 7 month my life became very disorganised. Since december i quit any form of sport, my sleep habits are very bad (i go to bad at 5-7 in the morning and sleep until 4-5 in the afternoon); i take crappy meals (mainly bowls of cereals and sandwitches). So when you put together all this things it gives you a shitty attitude towards life and lack of motivation of doing something.

But all this have to change, starting from now. I want to use this blog as a way of not only improving my poker game (btw, i'm very thankfull to SDK1987 for all the hand reviews he made for me. Thanks!) but also as a way to improve my life. So, everything beeing said i will keep track of my evolution by posting daily or every other day. I write down quite a story and if there are any readers hope i didn't bore them too much.

Cheers!

Is 3bet in position a good option in this situation? The raiser was quite tight.

You could 3 bet here to lets say 250, but UTG player looks tight so far. So I don’t mind your call here. If you do it you need to fold on a 4 bet shove.

Flop is tricky, but button looks pretty agro so far and the original aggressor is already out the hand and I don’t think he will raise too often with 7x and 88 here. Makes not to much sense I think to do it on a dry board like this. He can also play some mid pocket pairs like 99-TT and a 8x hand this way. I don’t think your stack off is bad here against him.

Do you call on this flop? With a complete possible straight?

I don’t think the BB will over shove to often with TT or a straight like this. Against him it’s an easy stack off. Off course the MP+1 is now virtual all-inn as well, but I don’t think he will open QJ to often if you look to his stats. He most likely limp a hand like that, but with fish you newer know. I would play the hand the same way you did. If you’re against a straight is a little bit unlucky I think.

Can i still call on the river especially when the flush draw have completed and there is an overcard on the board?

I expect he will bet turn as well if he had a flush or Kx. So I don’t think a call on his small bet is bad on the river. Other option is to bet on turn for protection against draws, but don’t mind the check do.

Intresting hand here. Now, looking back i don't like the line i took. So, the way i see things: the opponent from small blind limping range is mainly trash but there are also some traps there. On the flop, i hit a set and SB bet half the pot. So, my question is: should i 3 bet here? My initial thought process was that if i 3bet him he will not have too many cards in his range to call (the remaining 5, 3x and some pocket pairs). Now, given the line i took, i believe i should bet somewhere around 200 on the turn. My second question is: after check/call turn, should i fold when he bets river?

On flop you have almost always the best hand with your trips 5’s.
I’m most likely raising here, because you want to protect your hand against flush draws and to get value from pocket pairs. Off course it’s likely he raised those hands pre-flop already, but he looks passive so far. A raise to 210 looks fine here.

As played I’m betting turn a little bit bigger. I make it approximately 175 in total here.
Further I’m most likely only calling on his lead on river. It’s not likely he hits a straight here, but I don’t think you have much value in shoving. He can still have a full house hand as well that he played a little bit funky.

Turn shove is a fishy move I think. I expect most players will do it with a 7 or better on these stakes. Also his flop bet indicated that he has something like that. That’s why it’s for me an easy fold without reads on him.
