$780 roll in NL100 SSS is already a decent stack. You can manage to comeback from downswings with this roll. I still prefer moving up to NL200 as soon as BR is $1200. I just feel that players in NL200 are more into coinflips and gambling mode which is profotable for SSS.

Finally I am now in page 2 of my Blog. LOL :)

I played two short sessions tonight and I experienced crazy swings.

My 1st session was a losing session. Most of the cards are played are either beong outdrawn or already dominated. When I was already losing $300, I decided to take a break and have my dinner.

My 2nd session was a good one. I was able to recover and focused more on the ganes and the quality of players. The lesson I have learned is take a break whenever you already feel that you are getting deeper on a losing session. 2nd is never play with an empty stomach. :)

Below is the graph of my session today:

October 13
Win/Loss: $210
Hands: 1465
Balance: $2430

Last night I already reached Platinum Level in Pstars.

As of Oct 11, I still need 2788 strategy points to be upgrade to Diamond level. With the games I am playing right now, I can get to Diamond level by the 4th week of Oct.

One down for my objectives this month. Two to go.

Yesteday, I was not able to play :(. Maybe it is a good thing since I had a short break in playing online.

Earlier today, I was not feeling right. I think I was about to get sick. I end up sleeping the whole day and woke up around 6:30 PM.

I had a good evening session. I made too many mistakes with my restealing ranges against those regular grinders. I end up losing some of my profit for the night. I lost like 3BI few minutes before I ended the session. I did not continue playing cause I feel that I am about to play on tilt.

Oct 15
Win/Loss: $210
Hands: 1058
Balance: $2680

October 16 (Morning Session)

Win/Loss: $170
Hands: 356
Balance: $2850

I woke up early today so I had some time to play online. I played a short session and again lost like 2BI before the end. I was already closing my other tables when I had two premium cards on my other tables but these cards did not hold.

Still in general, it was a good session.

Biggest win for the session:

Biggest lost for the session, it was a sucker river.

Tomorrow, I will be playing in a live tournament. I managed to get a seat for the last of the day 1s (Day1c). This tournament has a low buyin with more than 1000 expected participants. This tournament is in celebration of the 2nd year aniversary of the local card room.

Buyin is only 2000php ($42.78) and 1st place is guaranteed with atleast 400000php ($8556).

I do know that my tournament skills will not get me deep but I will try to make it to day2 and if possible get in the small money.

In addition there will be a lot of fish and donkeys during the early levels. This will help me assess my tournament skills and I will try to build my stack from these types of players.

Well it is a cheap live tournament but the playing field still have a lot of strong and professional local players. Nice tournament to play. :)

Wow you really have loose stats, I would really love to watch you play sometimes, since I really can't find a way to play profitable with that stats, I need to be much tighter, also your winrate is kinda unreal for SSS.

Also I'm very interested in what are the spots where you are calling, I usually almost never call, just raise or fold as advocated in the strategy here, even if I still think it could be profitable to call sometimes.

My stats are vp11/pr10/orl35/foldbb to steal 83 (again a very big difference from yours). Is it possible that the difference of play on the limits is so big, that you need to change your play that much?

+1...yes really, VP20+ is wooow ?(...maybe NL200 play is really so more loose...i dont have experiences...

About calling, what RahXephond1 said, when i find a proper spot to call, i also call, with suited connectors mostly in the late position, but usually this is rear...my stats are similar to RahXephon1 stats...

Well I tried to stick to the SSS rules as posted on the website but with this I have observed that I am so predictable. Other regulars just play safe when I am in the pot thus I only win small pot.

With my current stats, I am just adjusting my play based on the stats and notes I have on other players. As I have said before, what I like in this level is that other players really like to gamble and take coinflips.

I usually steal a lot of blinds and dead money specially if the players who posted the blinds do not defend it or geenrally tight players. This allows me to have a loose image on their stats. I have even seen other ss players with looser raising range on late positions and blind battles.

What I am doing is that when I limp on early position TT+,AJs+,AQo+ I end up raising all in when someone from behind raises preflop. This also gives me a loose image.

I also call preflop if I will be in position post flop specially against those crazy maniacs and usually based on the stats I already have a plan on the flop. Semi-bluffs should also be in your arsenal if you want to play post flop.

Sometimes I also resteal when I sense a weakness on MP or late position 1st in raise. I consider it as a dead money to grab. In addition, I am just playing 6 tables so I still have time to observe the tables and put notes on the big fish and other regulars. I don't like good regular players seated to my left. I can still focus on these tables and most of the time I am able to find good spots to win dead money.

Table selection also helps a lot. I usually join tables with average pot of $25+ and 25%+ players seeing the flop. More action on the table means more possible winnings. :)

I know you guys won't beleive me but this is how I play SS. Either I win big or lose big. :)

Well it surely is working for you and I'm also pretty sure that by picking the right spots you can loosen up a lot. On my limit though a lot of the times play is so loose that I really need to tighten up or I loose lots of money.

Example i isolate with AT, sb calls original limper also. I'm in a 3 way pot and if I don't hit my hand is real trash, and my remaining stack is around potsize, maybe a little more so I don't even have an other choice than fold/allin. On those kind of tables I think it's better to just play the premium hands.

I'm very interested in other profitable spots though as it gets real hard to play sss against decent players, because they can put you on a hand so easily.

Well let us take 99/TT for example FR and UTG.

Since you are playing SSS a limp and a raise on early position gives the impression of a monster hand. It doesn't matter if you raise or limp right?

Example 1 - Table is aggressive.

Preflop:

Hero limp, MP raise 4bb, BU call, sb fold, bb fold, hero ?

What I do here is reraise all in. There is already 10.5 BB dead money might as well grab it or take the coinflip. You are actually trying to give them false information that you have a monster hand.

Example 2 - Table is tight

Hero Raise 3BB - Most of the time you will be able to get the blinds or you will have one caller. If there is one caller standard cbet of 4BB. This usually ends the hand.

Example 3

Hero limps, BU call, SB call, BB check.

Flop - any 3 cards - If both sb and BB check, then standard bet 2BB.

Here I usually stab the dead money, if it is not successful you will know where you're at and can act accordingly on the turn and river.

99/TT is not being advised to play in SSS if you will not consider stats but again you also need to consider your opponets and adjust your play.

These are some of the plays I have adjusted but I never do this against unknowns. :)

If the table is loose you should be willing to gamble if you raise AT preflop. You should be checking the stats of the other caller such as Fold to Cbet (flop). If this value is high for both players I really don't care if I hit or not, I do standard cbet of 5BB-6BB. I am only raising 3BB + 1BB for each limper preflop so that I can stil play with my stack post flop. :)

Today I have reached the $3000 balance. _love: _love: _love:

I had an early downswing, imagine 5 BI in less than 150 hands? I was not winning any preflop allin. It was a good push preflop, some of them I even have the other player dominated but my cards were not just holding.

Then I decided to be a little more careful and provided more time in table selection. I end up winning some good pots and my balance even reached as high as $3100. I just lost big pots towards the end so I decided it was time to quit for the night.

Oct 16 (Evening Session)
Win/Loss: $160
Hand: 772
Balance: $3010

I will be playing in a live tournament tomorrow and if I make it deep I will not be able to play online. :) It is a 3day tourney with a small buyin ($43) and more than 1000 expected participants. I guess the 1st day is what we call a real grind. :)

so do you do this with your monsters as well for balance?

You are damn right. Again when I limp any of my raising range preflop, most of the time I am already willing to go broke with it if there is a raise and another limper (dead money).

hmm if people got that read on you they would just limp all their sc's and sets knowing they will stack you if they hit

Of course some people could adapt, but still as long as there is someone willing to raise you get additional value from hands that would maybe fold to a utg raise. For example you limp KK, someone calls low pair or sc. One of the player after you both wakes with a solid hand and sees two limpers and raises. The limper just gave you more money.

If no one has a hand, you get into a unraised multiway pot, which kinda sucks, but still in that case your utg raise would get you only the blinds anyways.

I can easily imagine this move can be really profitable on fishy or aggressive tables.

of course i see why it is attractive to limp your monster in ep because then you are sure not only to get blinds.
yet you will so often get into tricky spots this way that i dont see how it could be profitable and on higher limits like nl200+ people do adapt very fast.
in an unraised multiway pot you are either gonna loose big or win small this way i think.
