Hai guys,

I'm still alive and donking around at 5/T, running bad of course but I've started playing a 32/26 style (4-6 handed) instead of 25/19 with 18% 3-bet instead of 11 which is really fun to play and more profitable imo but time will tell for sure ;)!

Since I see you quite often at the tables(more than I would like to:) ) I was wondering if you would be interested in some sweat sessions?!? if ofcourse that wouldnt be too low for you:)

Your name has been mentionned A LOT during the past hours in the 2p2 stars thread. I loved reading those posts and I'm sure you will even more :). Someone's quite upset there.

Terrorblade playing with some poor dude's mind... I won't post that 5/T graph in the thread you popped into my blog!

TBH I rather enjoy the 2+2 cogniscenti bowing down in (clearly deserved) respect to your oarsomeness. :f_love: :f_love: :f_love:

Sup guys, I know I haven't posted in ages and it's cause I've been so busy playing poker....and league of legends ;)

As for how I'm doing I've actually got a winrate since I started playing 32/26. I'll let you know what it is and over how many hands at the end of the month.

So yeah, it looks like the drama of 5/T may be over but still I've got a lot of work to do and the first midstake - T/20 - which will enable to win (and lose) serious monies will be the hardest challenge yet (and also the first low-rake stake!!).

Lol @ the 2+2 thread, that's what happens when you go from 24/19/10 (VPIP/PFR/3-bet) to 32/26/17 overnight.

Good to hear fella! You know we're all following your progress and wishing nothing but the best for you. Live the dream. _cool:

I've got a couple of questions to bug you with:

- How many hands so far at 32/26? Approx 25 - 30k (per your graph)?

- What was the catalyst for loosening up? eg study group discussion, other site study, books/articles?

- What is the key difference between a PS.com 25ish/20ish range and the 32/26 range?

- What form does the looser play take - ie is it just a factor of adjusting pre flop ranges from a PS.com TAG range base? Or have you loosened up your base pre flop range as well?

- Where does the extra aggression derive from... pf/F/T/R or a combination?

- Is the point of the extra aggression to increase fold equity over and above the loss in your hand equity v villians range? Summit else?

I'll talk about results at the end of jan. but for now..

PS charts basically tell you all the situations where you have a straight equity edge pf. and thus is profitable to play no matter what. The charts assume you're against an equal skilled opponent who plays as well as you.

The thing is, the people you are playing against are probably bad and thus give you implied EV postflop in the form of freecards when you shouldn't get them, folding too much in the case of loose 3-bets and just playing bad in general.

Playing a few more hands from BB getting 5.5:1 like Q9o etc, all suited cards, loosening up HARD on the BU and CO isolating and opening 32o against bananaranger () etc.

It was cause I sweated a 2+2 player who wins pretty solidly and he was going kinda crazy so I decided to try it out.

Hai guys, it's been a while since I made any meaningful updates and I did say I'd do one at the end of January so here we go.

Smoothie related:

I have added a new ingredient to my smoothies, flaxseed oil. It's purely a health additive i.e. doesn't really add anything to the flavour except make it a bit oily :P It's an excellent source of Omega 3!

That brings the total ingredients for a 2 cup smoothie to:

2 Medium size bananas
1.5 handfuls of mixed frozen berries
100mL of yoghurt (those small fresh 'n' fruity ones if you're a NZer)
2-3 large ice cubes
1 tablespoon of flaxseed oil
However much of fruit puree/spirulina* that will allow the whole smoothie to blend together.

* http://www.woolworths.co.nz/spirulina_simply_squeezed_147293.htm look at anything that appears green in the chilled section and see if the ingredients are mainly fruit purees.

Poker Related

So yeah, as I've mentioned before I've loosed up considerably over my previous style as of around mid Dec 09 and the results thus far have been very promising.

Firstly it made December my first WINRATE positive 5/T month which was kinda surreal and awesome (ended +1k after being down ~1.5k) but also this "streak" continued into January.

As I detailed earlier in my blog the loosening is mainly in 3-bets and open raises which added around 5-7 % more hands played and tend to make me far more annoying to play against, especially for TAGs.

January was interesting though because I got a good rakeback deal at a euro site with really low volume but terrible players so I gave it a go.

I got decimated, basically because:

1. I ran terribly and every second hand was a capped pot, they were all lagro sportsbetters

2. the rake was like 14BB/100 (possibly still beatable)

I ended up dropping 1500 euros at 5/T euro in ~1.6k hands so I was running about as bad as statistically possible.

End stats for that experiment were 37/28 (was playing quite a bit of 3-5 handed) with 42/46 WTS/W$@SD (was getting phenomenal starting hands + everyone was playing like a rabid squirrel on P).

This experiment ruined what should have been my best month in overall winnings but made it turn out average.

Garphs n stuff

January overall 3/6 + 5/T including euro site

5/T Lifetime

Note the absolute trough on the above 5/T graph is when I started playing looser but I need to play many more hands to see if this is a lasting effect.

Plans from here

-I'm no longer getting food subsidy or free internet from my parents and I'm re-evaluating to see where I am at the beginning of april thus concluding my first year and to see to what extent I can support myself.

-Playing 5/T exclusively now, I want to see a good 3-4 months of solid results and lots of work on my game before trying out 10/20.

Sorry for the lack of updates, as results improve updates become more infrequent as I don't have anything to complain about :P

Aaaaa! I have conveniently ignored the term up 'til now.. makes the "Road to Robusto" make a lot more sense... I guess robust-o?

Although having googled for the term, I now see a far more obvious connection! :f_confused:

Epic smoothie addition - Flaxseed oil FTW!

Was the back raking a significant BR improver?

Not when you factor in literally running @ -10BB/100 & the higher rake itself.
