thanks, it was about 50/50 1tabling or 2tabling.
After my break not much good has been happening for my at the 60s. I ran bad in everything. EV, coolers, setups, card domination. It has been really frustrating
Spoiler
(yes, gonna use this word)
and my confidence really got hit.
Maybe it was my mistake that I basically jumped right into playing 60s after long time without playing. I obv contributed to my losses also with my sub-optimal play, still am convinced that it was mainly variance.
Anyways, since I couln't really take it anymore ( I dropped over 2k and over 1k in EV ), I decided to play some 30s to regain confidence. And this is the result for the last 2 days I have been playing. (basically just 2-tabling )
The players at this level are just awful. The fishes are terrible obv and there are so many semi-regs or bad regs that you hardly find somebody decent.
Also seems like I will run good compare to EV at 30s indefinitely... still I plan to get back to 60s soon since I got the roll for it and the most games played at that level. It might be just me, but 60s seem a bit more reg infested that they were in june...
Also I heard the 100s got even worse in terms of reg/fish ratio so I don't know if I won't take RJRJ path and grind 30s/60s indefinitely... We will see

♦ haha i wish...
the problem is I can't handle the swings so well and I can't imagine taking swings at 200s+
Also now after the break, it is f**king ridiculous. I run so bad at 60s it is becoming unreal. Today I played only around 20games there and had underpair vs overpair 3 times + some ridiculous coolers such as set vs. straight ... So the shit from the beginning after I came back continues. Oh well
At 30s I seem to run good compare to EV, EV is decent but feel like variance is still a bit liking the other side better lol ♦
I hope the other side of variance will come soon so i can comfortably play only 60s
and we will see what comes then
Have you tried working on your mindset? Like reading Jared Tendlers book, maybe taking some coachings. You are losing a lot of money just because of your mindset, IMO.
GL though!
^ you are absolutely right. Having correct mindset is probably my biggest leak I have. I actually read two mindset books. Jared's and The Poker Mindset.
Now I actually came here to share something else. I just read this article http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/185/heads-up-sng/poobah-post-you-suck-poker-671391/ and it really got me thinking. To get back to it, let me tell you why I searched for this stuff.
As I wrote before, I had 50 days off playing and now I'm kinda struggling to get back to the point where I was before. I definitely could've saved myself some money if I didn't just jump right into playing 60s and played lower until I get the same feel for the game as I had before.
The fact is, my mindset was totally wrong. I assumed I would just continue playing the same game and quickly make some money. Luckily I realized I should pick up on my game playing lower which happened at the 30s.
I really felt like I'm back so started mixing in 60s. After reading the article, I just don't wanna write again that I blame variance. Yes I'm running pretty bad this month at 60s in both EV and coolers but who the hell cares? I should realize that I make a lot of mistakes and I lose money because of them.
The problem is that I always wanna be the best and show others that I'm one of the best at my stakes. And if something is not going in my direction, it just affects my mindset. If anyone knows some good articles that can improve mindset, let me know ![]()

I gotta set myself some goals to get back in the game slowly and kinda easily:
So far it has been a week where I put in very solid volume (over 1k games) but am losing both in money (more) and EV (not significantly - still sucks a LOT). My games from 60s and 30s are totally mirrored lol
So what I'm gonna do?
play ONLY 30s until my BR hits 6,3k
Spoiler
(is at 5,6k at the moment, I withdrawed huge portion of it, got it in my savings rather than on the site)
make sure that I feel good before every session
if I start thinking "how the hell does he always have better Ax, this is getting unreal", just quit for a while and think rationally. Just take a break and possibly go over the game and look for mistakes.
play at least another 1000 games till the end of the month
The fact that I have to play 30s sucks mainly for 1 reason: SUPERNOVA. I'm at 44k VPPs currently and just have to play good to get back into 60s so I will have a chance to reach it.
Well, let's see. One step at the time and no rush
10K month!
Spoiler
Unfortunately only as far as VPPs are concerned lol

Spoiler
So far it has been really interesting month. I came back after a break and just gone through very very unexpected variance...
I played by far the best volume ever in a month. So far I have close to 2500games and might play a little tomorrow. So I guess I got at least good at something.
The results are different story. I will have my first losing month
My EV is basically BE, bit below (has been more negative a long time) and im down more than 1,3k pre rakeback.
Alone at 60s, I lost 3k (EV -1,5k) (-11% roi after 475games), big lol. I think the biggest shitrun ever. I really think I didnt play so bad there but it really got unbearable... the card distribution, setups and also losing flips etc...
At 30s, I partly made up for that. Played almost 2k games there and ROI is 3%, running slightly above EV. Not really satisfactory either. I feel like I can do much better there but I think I didnt have a good run at 30s either.
Cant blame it all on variance though. I played bad at times, just tilted a bit after few setups in a row or losing few BI to the same fish. I got much better at it during the second half of the month and feel like I played pretty well ![]()
Bottom line: Hypers are completely unpredictable. I feel like my game hasnt changed that much compared to before and before I had over 4% EV roi and now I can barely break even. We will see what the next month brings and I hope it will be much more successful and I will be able to play 60s again. I got very comfortable BR for them, however my confidence won't let me play there... Pretty sad, before I left for vacation, I wanted to shot 100s again and now im playing 30s ... but hey people can make a lot of money there too
Interesting about your red line. I have the same experience as you do. My red line went way up for 3k games and now it's just breaking even for almost 1k games even though i feel i actually play better than before. But as you know red line is not the whole story, card distribution has alot to do with it. But it doesn't really boost your confidence when it does.
Dont forget that ev line also has variance ofcourse its much smaller than green line but still.
Like 4% roi player after 15k games can have 2,5k games ev going down not just breakeven.
I remember reading somewhere on 2p2 that you should start worrie if you are breakeven after 4-5k games
yeah i guess it also kinda messes up EV when I played 60s and then 30s ...
So I was planning to play again at 60s later, because started running good at 30s but today kinda messed it up
Spoiler
standard 20BI under EV in hypers though ... funny that I was 9BI below EV vs one fish in only 16games and just had to decline cuz I couldn't take it anymore (hate when i have to decline donks)... he also ran good otherwise

picture hosting
So 30s look quite ok since the beginning of August (after break)
Spoiler
still will try to get around 20bi at this stake and then will try 60s once again ![]()
also hope to improve my ROI which I think is definitely possible.
Also feel good about my 2-tabling although sometimes I concentrate too much on one table especially if I we sit at the same time with somebody I know and I try to play my best
--------------------------------
From RL, I have to decide on topic of my bachelor paper... deadline is coming dangerously close and I still don't know what to write about. I think I could write about economic aspects of gambling and proper regulations, which will be interesting but not sure if I will find a teacher that will approve it...
Hi mister Pavel, I'm thinking of trying HU a little bit more serious, so I'll definitely check this thread out.
What BRM would I need for one tabling 7$ Hypers, if I'm around break-even when 2 tabling (1.5k sample)?
Thanks in advance.
I'll answer this as well if you don't mind ♦
It depends how comfortable you are with moving up and down limits in a disciplined fashion. If you are comfortable, the most efficient way of moving through the limits seems to be reaching 40BI for the limit above and taking a 5BI shot, then moving down again if you lose it.
If you aren't so comfortable with moving around a lot just go for a flat 100BI BRM then you should be safe (Bear in mind that both strategies have a similar risk of ruin as long as you're disciplined).
I'm playing $7 Hypers on Stars, what's your SN?
I guess it has been answered
really depends on how you feel comfortable. I wouldn't strickly follow some BRM (im just way nittier, which is not very good either)
-------------------------------------------------------------
Yay, Im below EV overall in hyperturbos... I guess justice happens somehow. Still variance could even out other way that 1,5k I was below EV in turbos lol
This month is pretty yuck
46BI under EV happens obv, but this was in such a short time it pretty hurts. I felt like I maintained playing my A game actually for the most part until the end where I tilted off about 3BI
Pretty dissapointed in myself here...
So yeah, 60s will have to wait a while. And I kinda gave up on Supernova too. It seems like it is just not meant to be right now. Also if FTP has a good traffic, I will just move my ass over there, play on tracked account and pray that supernovas will stay on stars ♦
Thanks for your help. My screen name is VladimirN and it depends on some external things whether I'll be playing these or my regular 6-man sngs.
If I can 1-table 7$ HU hypers with 350$ then I'll be doing those, unless I get my 2500$ back in which case I'll do some mix of 15$-30$ 6-man turbos.
I just checked. I'm only reset.
I do that every time I come back on Stars. It's easier to track my results for that period.

can i ask why did u block yourself on sharkscope?
I found one game we played. I block and unblock my username on SS on regular basis. There are 1) some personal reasons, 2) I have been checking my SS graph too much, 3) I have been on a downswing lately... so decided to block and not look at it. 4) doesn't matter whether it is blocked or not really because all regs on 30s/60s know who I am and I haven't experienced any reg hunting me on those limits when I was blocked ... now im plying 30s and its not even possible to hunt somebody there except for palba. And to be honest, I don't really like playing him that much since he is so random and I have to take new notes over and over and over... probably better to play just by feel vs him ♦
I don't mind if palba is hunting me. He is soo spewy, but i can't see him winning with his passive limpcalling style ♦
Another question: i saw that you were playing 30s at the beginning of the year. Do you recognize some changes in the field now? Do the games get tougher after 9 months?
He meant it the other way around. People are hunting palba, not being hunted by him ♦
