vonki whats your SN on stars?
6 hours of play? Hmm, nah I don't think its 6 hours but probably between 3 and 6 hours yes, an average of 4-5 hours a day maybe? dont really know, don't really think it matters exactly how many hours it will be. BUT it will be challaging yes ;P
And, why do you want to know my Stars screenname?
Oh and first nonsmoking day has (almost) come to its end.
I feel lightheaded, have a headache, a hard time focusing, feeling tired and passive... But, I made it!
Even though I kept wanting to go outside and smoke I just as fast remembered that I shouldnt. And I wont.
First day is the hardest, and I'm happy its over. Tomorrow will be a challange though as I'm going to school for my next exam... but oh well!
I'm stronger then some stupid urge. Willpower at its best!
I've been heavy smoker for like 4 years 1, 2 packs/day and now didn't smoke a single cigarette in two year, never felt a need to do so.
It's all in your mind, your body isn't addicted anymore, you need to try and make your mind associate not smoking with happy feelings and the urge to light up will go away. Try to imagine how happy you are not being an addicted to killing yourself instead of feeling like you are losing something. Trying to suffer through some mystical period of time waiting for some miracle moment won't help.
Hard for me to express myself, hope it helps at least a little bit.

Hardest part is done now, keep it up! Once you've done 2-3 days you wont even think about them!
Good stuff
Gary
I do agree that it's alot in the mind, but I do not agree when you say my body isn't addicted anymore.
I mean it's even scientificly proven that the body rly is addicted to the nicotine itself, and that it is one of the most addictive drugs. I am using nicotine patches so my body isn't even free of nicotine yet.
I don't feel like I'm loosing something because I don't like smoking
I think it stinks, I know it's superbad for the health and it's -EV for my economy and I AM happy about quitting, which is what keeps me strong but it doesn't kill the urge itselfs, because my body is screaming for more nicotine... it does help me fight the feeling and more or less ignore it (at least for a while) but it doesnt kill it.
I'm not "suffering through some mystical period waiting for a miracle" to be honest, it's not the first time I stopped. I'm not really suffering. I know it's for the greater good, and in a couple of days when the nicotine has passed out of my body this "miracle" thing of yours is to await.
I'm thankful for your adviced but I just don't think they apply to me. I am aware of my own body and it's reactions and what's happening right now, and if I wasnt sure I would make it then I wouldn't have tried to stop again.
I am not even close to giving in, I'm just having to deal with some side-effects just like everyone else. The difference between me and most other people is that I'm completely aware of the situation, in 100% control of the situation and have no doubt in my mind this will succeed.
Haha, now I just can't stop writing. I mean, miracle? Who say's I'm waiting for a miracle? I'm not waiting for a miracle, I'm waiting for my body to get less and less addicted to the nicotine. You know, it's even said in an article that quitting smoking is harder then going off heroin, yet people have to go to rehab to get free from that shit?
So awaiting a miracle is soooo wrong. I have mentally prepared for this for months, and I have suffered through (well, suffer is the wrong word but since you used it I will too) this before and learnt from what happened then.
Then again, yes. Saying its ALL in the mind is true. Because every single thing we do or think is actually controled by the mind. Some of it however, we can not control. It's not like I'm imagining that my body is screaming for nicotine. Ach whatever I'm not getting this convo any further ♦
But bottom line: it's not just imagination, and in a couple of days the "miracle" you speak of WILL happen because my body will be emptied of nicotine by then and from THAT point it's mostly in my head yes
day 3 as non-smoker...
Today the big challange is on! I'm going into the city centre soon, together with my mom (who is a heavy smoker).
I say: Bring it on!
If I waste it now I'm officially weak and a morron.
you can do it vonki. its all in the mind set.
i stopped smoking for 2 years now also. but i can still imagine myself smoking after a bad session.
what i do is, i just preted i have a lighted cig... close my eyes and puff it all away. after a while the craving stops and im calm hahaha
back to grind mode again. might work for you
day 6 and still going strong
3rd day completely without nicotine, and things are getting easier.
Tonight it's time to play a qualifier again, starts at 22.30 and I'm looking forward to it.
Woooo. Congrats on the quitting

as man who quited smoking 2 times, i can say one thing. U can easily quit smoking after changing ur mind.
U just have to think that way - it's so cool not to smoke, it's so cool to breath fresh air. Also u may add some part of supremacy, i'm so cool, now i will be strong and healthy and those whstill smoke ruins their body comletely.
Imagine how ur lungs becoming cleaner, how ur heart is getting stronger beats. Also don't stop thinking u r a human, only u're making ur destiny with ur own hands. So if u desided to quit something, including smoking, u just do it without any hesitation.
Don't sure if i translate my thoughts correctly, im almost sleeping and too lazy to use dictionary. But i hope it can help u

lol this might actually be true
haha, thnx everyone. Well, I am on day 8 and 6th day without any nicotine at all (I used nicotinepatches first 2 days) and it's actually getting alot better now. I still feel some urge sometimes to smoke but now after 8 days it's just no problem to resist it and it would feel so damn stupid to waste 8 days of missery... ♦
After tomorrow or so I will return to playing poker again, I have to study today and a bit tomorrow but I should be able to start grinding soon again. Hopefully I will run good like you said!
@ kyle: lol i'm not surprised you can't see it. I'll give you a clue: she's missing something...
