Our history
PokerStrategy.com was founded by German mathematic and philosophy graduate and Fixed Limit high stakes player Dominik Kofert. The website's membership was initially limited by the founders to German-speaking poker enthusiasts.
Initially, Dominik Kofert created PokerStrategy.com as a forum through which poker enthusiasts could communicate and exchange knowledge, views, and opinions about playing poker. Partnering with chess Grand Master Matthias Wahls, the team noticed a correlation between strategy and skill-based games such as chess and MMORPGs and attracted early members to the site at offline chess tournaments and through online game forums.
Gradually adding support for poker students in English and Russian, and eventually offers in 14 languages, by November 2008 1.8 million players had registered with the site; by June 2015 it was easily the largest poker community in the world with over 7 million members.
In 2025 we branched out into covering other forms of gambling content. Following the same model of employing some of the best experts in their fields, we now guide players on the best casinos and betting sites to play at, as well as which offers are worth signing up for and the games and markets that are worth your time.
