After a very good summer (at least for the UK) it feels very much like poker is back.
That's what events like the WCOOP does for you, coupled with the fact that cold weather and rain is beginning to force many of us indoors again.
I'm not a big summer person; I have a much better collection of long sleeve shirts than short sleeve, so I for one welcome this change in season and extra focus back on the game.
It couldn't be a better time for me to dust off my mouse and start playing online poker again either. Not only do I have a few days off this week, but my mother-in-law is up for a visit.
I know mobile poker apps were designed so cool kids could play a few hands while they are sunbathing or sipping lattes in hipster cafes. I wonder what it would do for the marketing of poker in general if the world was presented with the image of me, sat on the toilet playing $7 turbo SNGs while hiding from my wife and mother-in-law as they talk about curtains.
If that thought has not put you off poker, and the internet in general, then I shall see you all next week.
Threads of the week

That is what prime333 asked this week and I would love to know the answer myself, so I am encouraging you all to reply with your thoughts.
I suggested Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, or at least a Hi/Lo game, but the early replies seem to think Stud Hi/Lo is the way to go.
Mainly because I feel sorry for him, I awarded our moderator tinolaan with the honour of blog of the week.
Why do I feel sorry for him? Last week at our paintball event he managed to get delayed on his flight, get the wrong train, miss the paintball and lose his coat. You can read about that and more in his blog.
LOL of the week
From our Daily Rewind I was reminded of this video. It's not by any means new, but very enjoyable. I think if I had to face Phil Ivey heads-up I reckon my only chance would be to get drunk and hope for the best too.
In case you missed it.......

We have listened to a lot of feedback, and the new system now pays out the same maximum amount of $500 per player, but does so in a more steady consistent basis with smaller but regular payments.
In case you have not heard about our new changes to SideKick, we have just launched a promotion to win €20 for completing a new mission.
Elsewhere in our Poker School, fussy eater and Zoom fanatic Pleno1 released his latest video for Diamond+ members.
What to watch out for this week
