Interview With Byron Jacobs: What Makes for Great Poker Training?

PokerStrategy.com coach Byron Jacobs is visiting the PokerStrategy.com offices in Gibraltar. Between his time at the poker school desk and the recording studio, we spoke to our video producer about what it takes to be a great poker coach and how to get the most from poker training.

"One that was really useful for me, when I was trying to play MTTs for a long time, was [a video] by Jonathan Little called "3-bets in MTTs", released in 2010. It was eye-opening for me, he explained how you couldn't sit and wait for good cards and explained very well situations in which you could 3-bet."

"One from my own collection that I like is one called "Check Behind" from a couple of years ago, it was Diamond when it was released but is now free. It's based on an article I wrote about checking behind with the initiative on the flop. This brings a lot of theoretical concepts into the practical game."
