EPT Prague to host a live Spin & Go Championship
Lottery SNG grinders finally have a way to lift a trophy over their head in a casino, this December in Prague.
Spin & Go may be one of the most popular formats online but it has never had a live counterpart, until now.
At EPT Prague at the end of the year, a live Spin & Go championship will take place. It's an invite-only event comprising of 74 online qualifiers and seven guests, with a €100,000 prize pool.
It will be a series of three-handed poker matches with a leaderboard. They will play out as follows:
- Round 1: 81 players across 27 tables. 4 wins required to reach Round 2
- Round 2: 27 players across 9 tables. 5 wins required to reach Round 3; €30,000 in random mystery envelope prizes between €2,000 and €10,000/li>
- Round 3: 9 players across 3 tables. 5 wins are required to reach the Final Round; €7,300 in prizes according to ranking and €17,000 in random mystery envelope prizes
- Final Round: 3 players across 1 table. €25,000 for first; €15,000 for second; €10,000 for third
A live version of this format was trialled at EPT Barcelona in August. Something similar was done many years ago with the World Sit & Go Championship in Tallinn.
