Maurice Hawkins ties for most WSOP-C Rings
The controversial player has captured his 18th circuit ring 17 years after his first one.
Maurice Hawkins has captured his 18th WSOP-C Ring, matching the record of Ari Engel.
He has just taken down the $400 Grand Master Event at Harrah's Pompano Beach in Florida for $16,137 and followed that up with a win in the Main Event for $140,752.
This extends a ring haul dating back to 2008. While all his rings have been in No Limit and Engel's have been in almost every format imaginable, Hawkins has won all of his bracelets live, whereas Engel has some online bracelets.

While Hawkins is clearly an end boss when it comes to WSOP-C titles, his career has been marred by multiple stories of him not paying back the players who have staked him into these events.
