Ari Engel retakes the lead in the WSOP-C ring race
A week after Hawkins tied for 18 circuit rings, Ari Engel makes it 19 with an online tournament win in the WSOP-C.
Forget the bracelet race, WSOP Player of the Year, PGT Player of the Year or GPI Player of the Year. The most entertaining leaderboard is the WSOP-C ring race.
Just a week after Maurice Hawkins tied with Ari Engel in the race with his 18th ring, Engel pulled ahead to win his 19th.
He won an 86 entry field in an online bracelet event in Pennsylvania to take the lead. All of Hawkins's rings have been in large field live No Limit events, whereas Engel has done a great job game selecting mostly smaller field tournaments.
Engel has carved out an unusual career chasing WSOP-C rings, Travelling all over the world, he has won circuit rings in many different places and crucially in almost every format. He has won rings live and online, full ring, heads-up, six-max, NLHE, PLHE, HORSE, Omaha Hi/Lo, PLO and Mystery Bounty.
