Aussie Millions AUD250k Super High Roller: Erik Seidel Takes the Trophy
Event #21 of the 2011 Aussie Millions was the AUD250,000 buy-in Super High Roller, where 20 of the world's best poker players assembled for a shot at the AUD2.5 million first place prize. In the end, it was eight-time bracelet winner Erik Seidel who took home the trophy, defeating Sam Trickett heads-up.

While Event #8, the AUD100,000 High Roller, was considered a tournament good enough for the high stakes players, Event #21 took it even further and boasted a buy-in of AUD250,000 (~$248,350).
The Super High Roller event brought together a field of 20 well-known faces from the poker world, including Phil Ivey, Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Daniel "jungleman12" Cates.
Joining these pros were also three of the Macau regulars, who also took part in the Day 1 of the Aussie Millions Million Dollar Cash Game: Wang Qiang, Richard Yong and Paul Phua.

After about 9 hours of play, it was Erik Seidel who emerged victorious, as he defeated Sam Trickett heads-up for the title and AUD2,500,000 cash prize.
Trickett started with a seizable chip lead but was unable to hold on to it and had to settle for second place and AUD1.4 million ($1,392,000).
The final hand of the event happened when the blinds were 20,000/40,000. Seidel limped from the button, Trickett raised it to 175,000 and Seidel made the call.

Massive cashes for Seidel and Trickett in January
Sam Trickett was very close to winning two consecutive high roller events, as he managed to take down Event #8 just a few days ago for AUD1,525,000 (~$1,516,000). Nevertheless, he made almost $3 million, which is a great accomplishment in its own.
Things looked great for Seidel as well so far, as he now has three major cashes. Thanks to that, the recent Poker Hall of Fame inductee made almost $3.4 million in January alone:
- 1st place at the 2011 Aussie Millions AUD$250,000 Super High Roller event - AUD2,500,000 ($2,483,764)
- 3rd place at the 2011 Aussie Millions AUD100,000 High Roller event - AUD625,000 (~$621,000)
- 4th place at the 2011 PCA $25,000 High Roller event - $295,960
