Lederer exposé continues

Mr. Full Tilt

Howard Lederer was the man that "steered" the infamous members call that took place after the financial meltdown by Full Tilt, according to Diamond Flush's latest article.

The phone meeting between the major shareholders of the company was supposed to help find a solution to the problem, but after a range of disagreements none was found.

According to Howard, he didn't have a leading role in the meetings. However, according to Diamond Flush, Howard was in charge for "virtually every call" following the meeting on May 1st.

After presenting a case that Howard was more informed and influential in the running of the company after its shutdown, Diamond Flush's latest article offers an insight into the potential takeover bids.

One of the biggest revelations is that Jack Binion's deal was rejected for more reasons that Howard presented in his interview with Matthew Parvis.

According to the article, "the Binion term sheet eventually provided for a 40% dilution of owners’ shares for a cash infusion of $ 150 million."

Diamond Flush goes on to say: "with only 40% ownership in the company, Binion wanted control. This included the right to seat his own board of directors, replace the CEO and others, and hire and fire as he pleased…This was not a palatable option so early in the negotiations, with Ray in particular wanting to maintain control."

The article then goes on to discuss the issues surrounding the PokerStars deal and the lawsuit filed by Phil Ivey.

As ever there's a wealth of inside information presented in the article; something which certainly gives us a greater insight into the extent of Howard's influence and the many problems rife throughout the company.

Liv-ing the life

Liv Boeree and Kevin MacPhee are one of poker's busiest couples, travelling from country to country to grind the tournament circuit.

With live and online wins under their belts, the pair unashamedly enjoys the good life and in a new TV series the general public will get to see what it's like to be poker balla.

Entitled "I Bet My Life", the show follows Kevin and Liv as they travel to Monaco in search of EPT success.
 
Airing on the Travel Channel on Sunday November 4th, the show will undoubtedly find its way to the internet soon after.

Reid/Kyl bill won't penalise players.

Reid looking for online legislation

In September a series of rumours and leaked documents reported many details contained within Reid/Kyl's bill aimed at legislating online poker in America.

One clause that was rumoured to be written in the document was that online players would be penalised for playing on unregulated sites:

"To deter U.S. players from patronizing illegal sites, the bill makes explicit that any property involved in or traceable to a gambling transaction in violation of the new act (including winnings) is subject to forfeiture."

However, a recent amendment to the original draft has removed this clause according to Rich Muny of the Poker Players Alliance.

Speaking to Pokerfuse, Muny explained that they had obtained a copy of the Reid/Kyl bill and that:

"It's very clear and explicit that there are no criminal penalties for players. They knew we would likely oppose a bill with player penalties and were willing to answer us on that."
