The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is one of the most anticipated annual events for poker players. The upcoming 2013 PCA, scheduled for January 5th - 14th, will be the 10th time the event is held.
10 years ago, the first PCA was actually held on a luxury cruise ship which made stops in Florida, Mexico, the Cayman Islands, and Jamaica.
Since then it has grown into one of the most popular - and thus richest - festivals on the poker calendar and always kicks off the new year with a multi-million dollar bang!
Don't forget that if you deposit to PokerStars before 23:59 GMT on December 5, you'll receive a free $10 satellite ticket to the PCA Weekly Final and be able to compete in our exclusive $10,000 depositor freeroll.
The PCA: then and now
We found some pictures from the inaugural event, which was won by Gus Hansen for $455,780, to show just how much time flies:

In 2005, the event found a new home at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas, and it has happily stayed there ever since.

PokerStrategy.com asked Team PokerStars Pro Isaac Haxton and PokerStrategy.com coach Bryan 'primordialaa' Pellegrino what their favorite thing about the PCA is:
Isaac Haxton: What I like about the PCA is that I can play like $150,000 in buy-ins in a week. My favorite tournament is the $100,000 buy-in. It's a small field so it's easy to win!
Bryan Pellegrino: My favorite thing about the PCA is the fact that everybody is there. It's the event all the grinders go to, so everyone you've known forever online ends up there. It also has an 18-year-old minimum age to play which opens it up to a lot of the young guys too.
As you can tell by Isaac and Bryan's responses, the PCA can be a prime location for serious poker tournament grinding, a place to have tons of fun with fellow players - or both.
Congratulations to PokerStars and the PCA on the 10th anniversary of the event, and good luck to everyone trying to qualify for this year's event!
