WSOP APAC : Kelly, Greenstein and Duhamel Lead Accumulator Day 1A

The first ever Accumulator event at the WSOP kicked off with an impressive 329 entrants, of which 50 survived the day with chip stacks they can add to on day 1B and 1C.

The format of the Accumulator is new to the WSOP. There are three starting days and players are welcome to play all three. All of their end of day one stacks will all be added together on day two, meaning there is potential to build some huge stacks.

So for example Barry Greenstein currently has 45,600, but assuming he plays day 1B and 1C could well start day two with significantly more. It also means the average stack on day 1C is going to be significantly higher than it is now, currently at 19,740.

Big names who will have to start from scratch tomorrow, after being among the day 1A casualties, include Oliver Spiedel, Dominik 'aceontheriver' Nitsche, Marvin 'xcrash154' Rettenmaier, Eugene Katchalov, Antonio Esfandiari and Bertrand Grospellier.

Making the best head start of all was Dan Kelly who bagged up 66,250 after a late surge at the end of the day. He is joined by Barry Greenstein and main event champion Jonathan Duhamel at the top end of the chip counts.
