iPoker upgrades: late reg SNGs, cash time bank, multi-entry, toast notifications

The iPoker network is getting some new features, including a new "toast" notification feature that allows players to act without even viewing the table.

iPoker is due to launch a software upgrade in October with several new features bringing the software further up to speed, plus a couple of unique features.

Cash game timebanks & usability options

Timebanks have only been available for tournament players on iPoker so far, but the next upgrade will see ring game players able to take their time on certain decisions.

One new feature that may save some frustration is the option of customising when one uses their timebank - always, manual, or "pot dependent", meaning that the timebank only applies if a player has voluntarily contributed to the pot.

Toast notifications

Another unique feature of the iPoker upgrade is "toast" notifications; these are pop-up notifications that appear by the taskbar (see below). They will pop up when players have navigated away from the table and it is their turn to act, giving all the vital information such as the board, your hand, your stack size, and the size of the pot; buttons will allow you to make actions without returning to the table.

Toast notifications are triggered when it is the player's turn to act, when new cards are dealt, and when new community cards are dealt.

Late reg. SNGs, multi-entry tourneys

Additionally, the new software will come with a couple of boons for tournament and Sit & Go players. Firstly, late registration will now be available for Sit & Go tournaments. Similar to regular late registration in scheduled events, this allows new players to enter for a certain period after the start of the tournament.

Late registration SNGs will not be dispayed in My Token and Quick Seat sections of the client, and will be displayed in a different way in the lobby - once the tournament starts, the Players column in the lobby will display the total number of players registered, which can of course increase as the late registration period continues.

Finally, multi-entry tournaments will be supported - in these, players can take control of multiple stacks in the same tournament at separate tables, with stacks merging if you're lucky enough to have multiple entries in the field when table numbers whittle down.
