Hellmuth and Gold weigh in on Trump
The mainstream media has looked to two former World Champions to give their insight into the rise of Donald Trump.
Election years are big business for news blogs and television networks, but sometimes you have to go looking for new hooks on the same stories.
This week it seems that the fresh take on the Presidential race is the views of professional poker players. World Champions Phil Hellmuth and Jamie Gold have both been quizzed to give a poker perspective on Donald Trump.
In an interview with The Street, the Poker Brat described Trump as a 'Loose Aggressive' player, and outlined how to defeat him:
The LAG controls the pace of the game, controls the flow of the game, controls how much money is put in the pot and pushes the pace to make sure every pot is bigger. Whether he has good cards or not, he has faith that he can outplay you or get lucky. The way you defeat that is to get even more money in -- you have to get more aggressive. You make sure that every time you have a hand that's likely to be better than his hand, you're getting big raises in. You have to have good discipline, but you get aggressive.
'Expert odds analyst' Jamie Gold
Elsewhere on Fox News, 2006 World Champion Jamie Gold was described as 'an expert odds analyst' when discussing the betting odds on Donald Trump.
He went on to explain how the betting markets, rather than opinion polls, are usually a reliable indicator of who is likely to win elections. Hillary Clinton is still the big favourite to win this year.
