With players flying in from all over the globe to participate in the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour Cebu event, it is no surprise that the final table has come down to such a diverse cast of players. Two Kiwis, two South Koreans, and one player each from USA, Taiwan, Philippines, Russia and the Netherlands will now be vying for the $148,200 winner's purse.

Leading the field going into the final stretch is South Korean Sim Somyung, a former gamer who sits of a huge chip lead with his 1,442,000 chips. Following closely behind him with 995,000 chips is American David Hilton.

Another successful transition from Starcraft to Poker

Before making the transition to poker, chip leader Sim (pictured right) was a very successful gamer who made his name playing Starcraft under the moniker of "SiLvEr". He retired from the game in 2007. Thus far, Sim's poker career has been very successful as he also made a final table appearance in last season's APPT Macau Main Event.

Making just his second appearance in a major tournament, Sim has made it two in two appearances as he joins an elite field of players who have made two final table appearances on the APPT. Sim who was all in with his last 100,000 chips 2 hours from the close of the day, made a huge comeback at the end to finish on top.

He first doubled through David Hilton despite being behind with against Hilton's . He then picked up to cripple his opponent who had moved in with . In the biggest hand on his way up, he knocked out Allih Bansuan who shoved all in after picking up top two pair with on a flop of . Sim had the second nut flush with .
