Ari Engel wins record 15th WSOP-C Ring
Back-to-back victories last week have matched Maurice Hawkin's record in World Series of Poker Circuit events.
Phil Hellmuth's dominance where WSOP bracelets are concerned has somewhat made the race for other players to win them uninteresting. The same cannot be said for the WSOP-C Ring record, which has been fiercely contested for a number of years.
Maurice Hawkins sits at the top with a whopping 15 WSOP-C titles, but last week Ari Engel won back-to-back titles in Rohnert Park to match him.
He won the H.O.R.S.E event and the Pot Limit Big O event to take his haul up to 15, since winning his first one 2007. Engel has won circuit rings in No Limit, heads-up, PLO, H.O.R.S.E, Omaha Hi/Lo, Mystery Bounty, and online formats. He has also won 4 rings this year alone.
A ring gets you a seat in the Tournament of Champions at the WSOP and the rankings are much more competitive than bracelets. Daniel Lowery, Joshua Reichard, and Valentin Vornicu all have more than 10 WSOP-C titles too.
