Bertrand Grospellier wins the PCA
Bertrand Grospellier, many know him as "Elky" was able to turn the game around again. He won the ETP PCA 2008 on the Bahamas before Hafiz Khan. David Pham, who started as the favorite, came in fourth.
David Pham started into the final table with a
significant chiplead. He was aggressive from the start and tried to build up
pressure. Bertrand "Elky" Prospellier was able to withstand, however, and took
the initiative on the table.
After sending home Joseph Elpayaa first, he then
fought David Pham. In
the end Elky's straight was able to secure the pot containing two million dollars
in chips against Pham's pair and be in the lead. Shortly after Elky kicked out
Christian Harder. Joseph Elpayaa was
sent home in sixth place.
David Pham wasn't that lucky. Hafiz Khan was able to take a few more chips from him. This put him down
to rank 3. Even though Pham was still able to eliminate Craig Hopkins, he then
had to leave the table himself. After Kris Kuykendall had taken away the
majority of Pham's remaining chips, Elky then sent him home as fourth.
Hafiz Khan took down the Norwegian Norweger Kuykendall 3-handedly. He was then
faced with Grospellier heads up. After that Elky was able to quickly win that game and therefore wins two
million dollars.
