Caesars Hosts National Heads-Up Championship
National Heads-Up Championship has found its home in Las Vegas, again. The 64 most elite poker players will gather up at Caesars Palace to duel for the title from March 6th to March 8th. With $1.5million in combined prize money and a big sponsor blowing in its back, this tournament is set to succeed.
There are several prestigious tournaments that the poker pros don't wantto miss, one of such is the upcoming National Heads-up Poker
Championship on NBC. This tournament will assemble 64 of the world's
best poker players as they will all gather to duel for the title with
the battlefield again being Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Scheduled to appear are several of the world's top
pros, including Phil Ivey, Johnny Chan, Doyle Brunson, returning
Heads-up champion Chris Ferguson, the former youngest man to win a Main
Event Phil Hellmut and the youngest man to win a Main Event Peter
Eastage (won WSOP 2008 at age of 22, thus breaking Phil Hellmut's
long-standing record of 24 years old).
The National Heads-Up Poker Championship will feature young stars
challenging the old guard, titans of poker competing in a series of
matches to
determine who is the best heads-up poker player. Executive vice president of NBC Sports John Miller is more than pleased as to how the fifth season will look like:
“The National Heads-Up Championship’s exciting and unique one-on-one format creates the most compelling poker action anywhere. We’ve got another great line-up of talent for our fifth season, which will provide fans with the kind of riveting match-ups they have come to expect from our tournament."
difference being that the finals are the best of three. $500,000 is
awarded to the first place, while the second place will have to satisfy
for $250,000.
The first round opponents for the brackets will be chosen on March 5th,
with the single-elimination competition beginning on Friday, March 6th
and ending on March 8th when a two-out-of-three championship match will
clear the smoke and reveal the last man standing at the table.
GoDaddy.com will be the
presenting sponsor of the tournament, which will be broadcast on NBC
over six consecutive Sundays in April and May. In a recent press release Go Daddy CEO & Founder Bob Parsons said:
