Chris Battenfield clears name after RTA allegations
No wrong doing was found by GTO Wizard or WSOP.com after online crusher Chris Battenfield was accused of cheating.
At the start of the month, we brought you the news that online poker crusher Mike Holtz had accused Chris Battenfield of using GTOWizard as RTA. We speculated at the time there might be instances of false positives following this story.
Two weeks on and Battenfield has spoken out, revealing that he has since been cleared by both GTO Wizard and WSOP.com (the site he was playing on).

Soon after the story broke, Matt Berkey revealed on his podcast that none of Battenfield's hands had been registered as positive. In addition, an online player called 'URNighmare' was accused of cheating on PokerStars, only for their hands to be deemed to be false positives.
Again, we extend our apologies to @Battenfield & UrNighmare, it was very unfortunate that they were wrongfully accused.
That said, we should all be encouraged by the swift response of @wsop & @PokerStars, unlike @official_glp.

It is concerning that false positives could be something that wrongly gets players accused of cheating. Whether it is by fluke that somebody was looking up a similar hand at the same time, a railbird watching and studying the action, or something malicious from a fellow player. As Berkey says, however, it is encouraging that GTO Wizard and major poker rooms are quickly working together on this issue.
No word at the time of writing from Holtz, who made the initial accusation.
