Could Zoom become Five Max?

Could short handed tables become even shorter? PokerStars Italy are currently testing out a Five Max version of fast fold poker.

The latest change potentially coming to a PokerStars table near you is that fast fold poker might become faster, as Zoom tables might become Five Max.

Right now the Italian PokerStars client has changed all its Zoom tables, other than heads-up Zoom, to Five Max

The change happened last week with no official communication from PokerStars.

This is not the first time a major change to the cash game ecology has first been tested in one of the ring fenced poker markets by PokerStars, in fact right now PokerStars Italy has also been trialling multi tabling a maximum of six cash game tables, with a view to rolling this new system out to the global poker liquidity later.

If implemented globally, this is another step in the general speeding up of the online game and perhaps also to make it a much easier format for mobile. However, it may also be, as MPN boss Alex Scott suggested on Twitter, a practical step to get more Zoom tables started
