Ferguson waiting

Chris Ferguson's dealings with the DOJ look set to come to a conclusion in February following recent "extensive settlement conversations".

According to a court document filed on Tuesday, prosecuting attorney Preet Bharara has asked for more time to consider Ferguson's case for a dismissal.

February 19 is the new date and it's expected that the former Full Tilt boss will learn if he's liable for any fines then.

In other news, the DOJ has also hinted that US players will soon know how and when they will get their bankrolls back.

In a statement to PokerNews, after announcing in November that a system would be in place by the end of January 2013, the DOJ has said a resolution will be coming "very soon”.

Who's your poker fantasy?

What do you get when you combine a fantasy sports game with poker? Fantasy Poker Manager by the GPI.

Launched earlier today, the free-to-play Facebook game offers a number of features designed to help "promote poker as sport and as entertainment" according to Alex Dreyfus (pictured left).

The Zokay Entertainment CEO sees his new project as something that will give fans a new level of interaction during major tournaments.

Moreover, he feels it will help establish the Global Poker Index as the most comprehensive ranking system in poker.

The game works in the same way many fantasy pick games do: you have a budget of $1 million, to purchase your favourite poker players and if they perform well you win points based on their results.

So far the poker community has reacted positively, with Marvin 'xcrash154' Rettenmaier already promising to perform well at EPT Deauville is people draft him.

The Aussie Millions Main Event is rapidly reaching a climax and in the last 24 hours we've seen Ray Ellis (1,044,000) top the remaining 36 players, just ahead of Patrik Antonius (957,000) and Mervin Chan (943,000).

Also kicking off earlier today was the $250,000 Super High Roller Challenge featuring PokerStrategists Tobias 'pokernoob' Reinkemeier and Philipp 'philgruissem' Gruissem.

Alex $1.5 million up in 2013

With many familiar faces taking part in the Aussie Millions $250,000 event, the path was clear for "punting-peddler" to emerge as yesterday's biggest winner.

After playing a total of 1,651 hands, the online grinder managed to bank $386,132 and finish ahead of Alexander Kostritsyn who finished on $190,508.

Suffering opposing fortunes in the last 24 hours was "RookieNFL" and Davin 'mtw-davin' Georgi.

For the former, a brief 812 hand session left him with a $248,476 deficit; while the latter saw $200,540 disappear from his bankroll.

Also suffering the wrath of negative variance during yesterday's action was: Erik "Erik1223" Sagstrom (-$190,307), "patpatpanda" (-$165,257) and "SennaBoris79" (-$110,265).
