Lindgren needs help

Once seen as the game's "All-American", Erick Lindgren used to have the poker world at his feet.

However, after Black Friday cast a shadow over his former employer, Full Tilt, cracks began to appear in Erick's image.

Max "$kill Game" Weinberg threw the first stone, when he claimed he was owed $11,000 in fantasy football winnings.

Howard Lederer then poured more misery on the American pro during his interview with Matthew Parvis.

Since then Lindgren has been conspicuous by his absence. However, in a recent interview with Bluff Magazine he's revealed where he's been hiding.

Having spent time in rehab, Lindgren talked openly about how his debts spiralled to $10 million at one point.

Jorgensen and Blom skip PCA

Theo in recovery

Theo Jorgensen's life was turned upside down last month after a gang of armed robbers forced their way in to his home and shot him in the leg three times.

Having made off with an undisclosed amount of money, Theo was taken to hospital where doctors worked to ensure he made a speedy recovery.

However, although Theo's injuries are healing, he won't be participating in this year's PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

In a Facebook post, he wrote: "I will officially NOT be making it to Bahamas this time around. Healing on one wound is taking a little longer than expected."

Despite missing out, Theo still seems in good spirits, adding: "The house is starting to look like Fort Knox so the only way I can see unwanted visitors getting in is if Tom Cruise decides to wire himself down the chimney."

Another player who won't be flying to the Bahamas is Viktor "Isildur1" Blom.

The Swede took down last year's Super High Roller event, but this year he's decided to stay at home until the NBC Heads-Up Championship later this month.

Selbst to marry

Possibly spurred on by Sam Trickett's recent engagement to Natasha Sandhu, Vanessa Selbst (pictured right) decided that yesterday was the right time to ask her girlfriend, Miranda Foster, to marry her.

The American pro informed the community via a tweet and in typical poker player style she managed to see some added value in the situation, stating:

"I did it tonight because I thought it would make me lucky for the super high roller tomorrow."

Vanessa's reasoning was almost certainly in jest, but following Miranda's acceptance there's no doubt that she'll have a positive frame of mind when the action kicks off later today.

High stakes corner

He might not be going to the PCA this year but that doesn't mean Viktor "Isildur1" Blom (pictured left) is keeping a low profile.

Indeed, over the last few days he's banked over $1 million at the virtual felt.

Since the start of 2013 Blom has been crushing his opponents and in the last 24 hours he managed to bank $696,435.

That win put him firmly atop of the day's high stakes leaderboard and took his overall winnings since the start of the year to $1,144,085.
