PokerStrategist Makes WSOP Final

A deep run for Khiem

Following in the footsteps of recent WSOP bracelet winner and PokerStrategist, Michael kaytor Gathy, another community member has gone deep in a World Series event.

Khiem akia Nguyen entered the final table of Event #26 in 4th place and hovered around that position until he eventually succumbed to Brett Richey in fifth place.

The German’s $83,180 prize was the third largest of his career and takes his overall winnings to over $800,000.

The eventual winner of the tournament was Austin Scott. His win took the Americans’ overall bracelet tally to 19.

Feldman’s Secret Millions

If Channel 4’s benevolent TV offering: The Secret Millionaire is a genuine title for the show’s participants, then Andrew Feldman has a much larger bankroll than many might have suspected.

The British poker pro is set to appear on an episode of the popular programme set to air on June 25th.

During the experience he’ll visit Bradford (a northern city in England) and assume a new identity in a bid to help those less fortunate than himself.

While it’s well known that Andrew has played in some of the biggest games in the world, many have questioned how worthy a candidate he is for the show given his perceived financial status at the moment.

Indeed, during the final of the Party Poker Premier League, Andrew was captured crying after losing out on the title (whether this was because his bankroll has taken a nosedive and he needed the money is unclear).

Regardless of his current money situation, the programme should go some way to raising the profile of poker players and the game in general.

Pinnacle Purchase FS+G

Pinnacle now own FS+G

On Wednesday we brought you news of an auction taking place to sell Federated Sports + Gaming’s assets.

Today the results of the bidding process have been revealed and after submitting a bid of $4.5 million, Pinnacle Entertainment Inc is now the owner of the Heartland Poker Tour and the Epic Poker League.

However, the final price tag is likely to be reduced by almost 50% as Pinnacle Entertainment Inc is owed $2.1 million by FS+G.

This fee has yet to be paid to Pinnacle on account of FS+G filing for Bankruptcy, so the likely outcome is that Pinnacle will simply offset this debt against the $4.5 million sale price, thus paying a final total of $2.4 million.

Balaz 40k Challenge

PokerStrategist Martin phase89 Balaz has recently embarked on what he hopes will be a record-breaking 30 days of SNG playing.

The hyper-turbo grinder has already taken down similar prop bets in the past but is looking to really make his mark on the single table tournament world by playing 40,000 six-max games in a month.

In total more than $17,000 has been wagered by the community against Balaz’s $7,000, so, should he complete his challenge successfully, the epic grind will net him a very healthy profit.
