PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker Begins

The 2012 SCOOP, the tournament series for all bankrolls, begins its run of 40 events with a No Limit Hold'em 6-max tournament. The first event is underway with a $27, $215 and $2,100 buy-in running simultaneously.

The series concludes with the Main Event, which begins on May 20 at 17:00 CET and carries a buy-in of $109, $1,050 or $10,300 depending on your bankroll. You can view the full schedule here.

In 2011, Sami "Lrslzk" Kelopuro won over $500,000 in the $10,300 SCOOP-High Main Event.

"rUaBot" Destroys Daniel Negreanu in Limit Hold'em Challenge

German Limit Hold'em specialist "rUaBot" might have had Daniel Negreanu asking that very same question after their high stakes Limit Hold'em challenge. It took the unknown online pro just 937 hands to best Negreanu and claim his $75,000 challenge bankroll.

Scheduled to play $200/$400 heads-up across two tables for 1,250 hands, the match began with rUaBot claiming an early lead and that set the tone for the rest of the game.

After contesting a close contest for 250 hands, the German was up over $11,000 before a huge rush saw him go from that to a $44,200 lead by hand number 407.

Negreanu's frustration showed as the match went on and river after river went rUaBot's way. After 750 hands Negreanu was down to less than $20,000 and ran out of chips on one table after 800 or so hands.

After splitting his remaining bankroll a couple of times, Negreanu was done after 937 hands with rUaBot acknowledging that the cards had certainly gone his way:

Daniel Negreanu's Short and Quiet Weekly Rant

Daniel Negreanu's weekly rant has been delayed this week, which in itself has prompted another - pretty amusing - rant, though at 90 seconds this one is much shorter than we've come to expect from Kid Poker.

An attempt to upload his usual rant saw him run into problems when Zodiak Rights had the video removed due to copyright infringement, owing to a clip that he had used in the video.

Apparently, though, they weren't clear about how exactly Negreanu should avoid this and he's not too happy with them:

Ilari Sahamies - turning things around?

The unknown player Phisherman36 continued to net the profits at the high stakes tables last night, putting in a $96,000 session to take his total winnings for the past week to almost $500,000 according to HSDB. This puts him just shy of $750,000 for 2012 so far.

Playing $25/$50 and $50/$100 Omaha, he put in four hours of play and 1,333 hands to win just shy of six figures on the day. Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies also managed to put in a winning session for the first time in a while, ending a torrid run and winding up $65,000 to the good.

Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky once again did some good work, adding $73,000 to his 2012 total of $1.6 million with a good performance at the $25/$50 6-max Omaha tables.
