EPT Budapest: Days 1a and 1b
Days 1a and 1b of the EPT Budapest have come to an end. The Italian Mauro Corsetti holds the chip lead and PokerStrategist Mario 'Maddyhh' is also still part of the game.
The first ever EPT in Hungary proves to be a success with many Big Names playing the tables, and the
organizers had to change the registration limit from 500 to 540.
Apart from celebreties such as Annette Obrestad, Sebastian Ruthenberg, Sorrel Mizzi and Luca
Pagano, quite a few PokerStrategists travelled to the event: Marko '
Infinity1000' Neumann, Mario 'Maddyhh' Puccini, Julian '
crazytalent' Peschel, Nico '
behlinho' Behling and Fredrik '
FiSheYe' Keitel registered to play the EPT Budapest. One of them, the German community member Maddyhh, is still part of the game, and will continue today in day 2 with 26,000 Chips.
540 players joined the EPT Budapest day 1a, but only 90 of them managed
to get to day 2. Players such as Dave Colclough, Nicolas Levi,
Marcel Luske or Barny Boatman were sent to the rail quite fast. Among others who got eliminated, there were Katja Thater, Valdemar
Kwaysser and Javier Etayo.
Day 1a winner was Annette Obrestad, who was the only player to successfully top the 100,000
value. She was closely followed
by Arnaud Mattern and Sorel Mizzi.
The second day at the EPT Budapest brought more big names to the tables, such as previous EPT champions Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Vicky Coren, Julian Thew and Michael Martin. They were joined by WSOP bracelet winners Max Pescatori, Alan Smurfit, Dario Minieri and
Davidi Kitai.
Day 1b was Mauro Corsetti's time to shine, as he took the chip lead in the last part of the play day, shortly after Christoph Haller installed himself at the top. Corsetti was also the only one to go over 100,000 chips.
Just as in day 1a, some more big names were sent to the rails: Max Pescatori, Julian Thew, Noah Boeken and Dario Minieri. However, other players like Alex Kravchenko, Kara Scott, William Thorson or Johnny Lodden are still in the race and we will be seeing them at the tables of day 2.
The following table shows you the final standing after day 1a and day 1b. Corsetti has the chiplead, followed by the young talent Obrestad. With Mattern, Mizzi and Lodden in the top 10, this ranking promises an exciting day 2.
