EPT Copenhagen Main Event: Day 1B

Day 1B of the European Poker Tour in Copenhagen just kicked off, with 236 players sitting down at the tables. This means that the total amount of players to join the EPT is now 462 and the prize pool is €2,976,644.

The European Poker Tour, or EPT, brought by PokerStars, reached Day1B,
with 236 players joining the tables and thus creating a total
attendance of 462. This translates to a total prize pool of DKK
22,176,000 or €2,976,644 for the top 40 finishers, while the first
place prize is set to DKK 6,541,920 or €878,110.

The DKK 50,000 Main Event saw more big names on Day 1B, but many of
them could not qualify for the second day: Peter Eastgate, Ivan
Demidov, Johnny Lodden, Theo Jorgensen, Dario Minieri, Julian Thew,
William Thorsen, Stephen Chidwick and Danny Ryan were all sent to the
rail during this day.

Surprises came from the starting point of the day as the random draw
produced Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Gus Hansen, Annette Obrestad,
Jesper Hougaard and Michael Tureniec were all seated at the same table.
Only Obrestad managed to survive the day and finished in the middle of
the other survivors with 28,600.

Andrea Benelli glided through the field and ended the day in the chip
lead with 107,400 chips. Day 2 won't change Benelli's lead as Thor
Hansen accumulated "only" 74,700 chips on Day 1A. The second place
belongs to Roberto Romanello, who managed to build a stack of 66,200
chips. Other notable names that will be seen on Day 2 include Ramzi
Jelassi, Martin Wendt, Reuben Peters, Jonas Molander, Bo Sehlstedt,
Danny Ryan, Alex Kravchenko and Vanessa Rousso.
