Event 14 – Final Table of the Seven Card Stud Championship
The final table of the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship Event is set. Chip leader is David Oppenheim ahead of Alexander Kostritsyn. Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu had to leave the tournament on ranks 9 and 11.
158 players signed up for Event 14 and generated a prize pool of $1,485,200. The winner receives $415,856. 80 players returned to the Amazon Room on Day 2, to determine the eight finalists. 16 places were paid out.
Late End for Negreanu and Ivey
Both super pros were amongst the last 3 players who were sent to the rails on Day 2. Negreanu dropped out as eleventh against Jim Paluszek, who showed (

Ivey lost his all-in against Vassilios Lazarou. Ivey held (

Thater and Zipf to the Rails
The two players on which Germany pinned its hope, Katja Thater and Robert Zipf, had to clear their seats early into Day 2. Neither of them reached the money ranks.
On the fifth street Thater went all-in with two cards to come against Paluszek and Eric Brooks. On the showdown she showed a pair of kings. Brooks had two pair, Paluszek showed (

Zipf had to join the rails even earlier. He was busted by Robert Mizrachi. Nonetheless, he had the honour of eliminating none other than Doyle Brunson from the tournament.
Oppenheim is Chip Leader
The American Oppenheim had the biggest chip stack for almost all of the tourney and will return as the leader to the final table tomorrow. For now, the pro from Woodland Hill still lacks a big tournament win. His biggest success fso far was a third place in the WPT Event of the Borgata Poker
Open 2003. Added to that are nine further WPT cashes and five WSOP in the money finishes.
Erik Seidel on the Final Table
Erik Seidel already won a bracelet in this year's WSOP. Tomorrow, he'll have the chance to win a second one for this Series. However, he'll join the final table as short stack.
Negreanu entertains the Audience
Before dropping out, Negreanu entertained the audience in his typical manner. After mucking his cards in a hand, he stood up and practised golf strokes with some "Air Golf". At times he also imitated his table opponent Scotty Nguyen. The fans liked it. What Nguyen made of it hasn't been passed on.
New TV for Ivey
Phil Ivey wanted to watch the NBA finale at all costs, but the nearby TV set broke down. When the technicians were unable to fix it in due time, a new one was set up with no further ado.
