Blair Hinkle is the winner of the $2,000 No-Limit Hold'em tourney (Event 23). The $2,500 Pot-Limit Holdem/Omaha tourney (Event 24) was won by the Italian Max Pescatori.

players gathered in the Amazon Room for the 23rd event of the Series. The prize pool amounted to $2,446,000, of which the winner received $507,613.

In the finale, Blair Hinkle defeated Mark Brockington in a short heads-up. In the last hand his held up against Brokington's . It was the second event of the 2008 WSOP which went to the Hinkle brothers. Grant Hinkle won the $1,500 No-Limit
Hold'em tournament.

Event 24 - $2,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em/Omaha

457 players signed up for the Pot-Limit Hold'em/Omaha Event. The prize pool summed up to $1,051,100. The first place finisher received $246,471.

Max Pescatori won the finale against Kyle Kloeckner.
Pescatori started into the finale of the last two as chip leader and never relinquished his lead. In the last Omaha hand of the tourney he was able to bust Kloeckner's flopped two pair with his own flopped top pair and the board pairing on the river.

For Pescatori it was the second bracelet and the 17th WSOP cash. 2006, the Italian won the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em tourney of the Series.
