This is the first of a two-part interview in which PokerStrategy.com reporter Tobias Block sat down with sauce123 in Las Vegas to learn more about him and the high-stakes games.

On looking at a session: "I've had lots of sessions where I lost huge amounts of money but made really fantastic plays in key pots, and I finished the session feeling very happy. Similarly, there are other times where I've actually won money and looked back at my play and thought 'wow, I really played like s**t' and I was unhappy with myself."

On game selection: "When you're a fairly high-level professional, whenever you sit down in a game, you need to have a reason for being in that game."

On his willingness to play almost anyone: "I think I play better than other players!"
