Is the next PokerStars format Split Omaha?

It looks like the next new game in the PokerStars client could be PLO with two boards instead of one.

The next new game to come to PokerStars looks like it will be Double Board Omaha, where two boards are dealt from the flop onwards.

As reported by pokerfuse the design for the 'Split Omaha' tables were part of the latest software update at PokerStars.

This most likely next game will be the PLO version of Split Hold'em, which was the first new format to hit the PokerStars client in March last year.

As pokerfuse have speculated, if the current PokerStars system of trialling then removing experimental formats continues, we will likely see 6+ Hold'em removed next month to be replaced by Split Omaha.

If 6+ Hold'em were removed this would be a surprise because unlike the other new PokerStars formats, 6+ Hold'em (or Short Deck Poker) has enjoyed widespread popularity live and online in the last 12 months. However, as yet none of these experimental formats have stayed in the client at the same time as each other.
