Duhamel leaves PokerStars
PokerStars was once the site that boasted the most World Champions, but is now down to only one, as 2010 champ Jonathan Duhamel is no longer a Team Pro.
The Canadian pro boasts live earnings of over $12 million and is one of the few modern day champions to score a big series of six-figure cashes after his world title win.
This leaves the site with just iconic world champion Chris Moneymaker in their roster of players who have taken down the biggest prize in poker.
Full Tilt IPO Announced
Full Tilt have joined forces with Irish event the International Poker Open to create a new UK & Ireland Tour - the Full Tilt International Poker Open Tour.
The series starts at the Star City Bray, just outside Dublin, for a $250 buy-in Main Event on May 22. The tour will also visit Cork, London, Newcastle, Killarney and Limerick.
However, the big event will be the $250 International Poker Open event in Dublin on October 22 at the Regency Hotel. Last year the event attracted 1,600 players and that number will surely increase now they have Full Tilt on board running satellites.
Bank denies Micro Millions winner
Italian player 'Ruideck' lived the dream when he turned $11 into $59,500 in the last Micro Millions series. So much so that he went as far as to quit his job in Germany to become a professional.
The dream has ended abruptly, however, as German bank Unicredit have denied him his winnings. German gambling law is incredibly complex and ambiguous, and the bank have chosen to interpret online gambling as illegal, and as such denied his winnings to be withdrawn.
This case has led experts to call out to CJEU to make a ruling to protect German gamblers from things like this. The player at the heart of this story has been sharing his attempts to get his winnings back in our German forum.
PokerStars Mastercard announced
UK players certainly will not face issues like this, especially as this month PokerStars unveiled StarsCard.
It is the first PokerStars branded prepaid Mastercard, which will allow UK players to deposit and withdraw a number of ways into their PokerStars account.
International markets are expected to get StarsCard in the near future. An Italian version already exists.
PokerTracker update
The latest version of PokerTracker has been released.
v.4.13.2 includes a number of updates and fixes, including ICM updates for PokerStars SNGs and fixes for Mac users.
