Macau Cash Games Move to Melbourne

Day 1 of the Million Dollar Cash Game in Melbourne came to an end on Monday, featuring the likes of Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius and Tom "durrrr" Dwan. Joining them were also three wealthy businessmen from the big games in Macau.

Day 1 of the Million Dollar Cash Game saw many well-known pros take their seats, all looking for some live high stakes action. The first set of players were seated as follows:

Seat 1: Wang Qiang
Seat 2: John Juanda
Seat 3: Paul Phua
Seat 4: Patrik Antonius (pictured right)
Seat 5: Phil Ivey
Seat 6: Tom Dwan
Seat 7: Eli Elezra
Seat 8: Richard Yong

The format was No Limit Hold'em $500/$1,000 and $100 ante in the beginning. Later on, Eli Elezra changed the system a bit: instead of $100 ante from everyone, the button is paying $1,000. More pictures from the event, as well as a video, can be found below.

Antonius wins big, Ivey stacked

When the first batch of players called it quits, Patrik Antonius was apparently the biggest winner. After losing a $300k pot and reloading, he managed to erase his losses half an hour later with a flopped full house. After that, he won a monster pot worth $435k with pocket aces, as well as several other smaller pots soon after that.

John Juanda finished the evening up approximately $250k. Dwan also made a profit, especially thanks to winning a $250k pot with jack high against Wang Qiang. According to Juanda, Qiang is "one of the best No Limit players that you have never heard of."

Phil Ivey lost his stack to Paul Phua, who then decided to call it a night. Ivey opted not to reload and left as well, along with the two other businessmen and John Juanda. Their seats were soon filled and the new line-up looked like this:

The action was not as exciting as before, and the pots were also smaller than in round 1. A few hours later, these players also decided to end the night and the two biggest winners this time were Sam Trickett and David Benyamine. Andrew Feldman and Daniel Cates were the ones that ended the session with the biggest losses.
