Poker player dies in car crash during WSOPE

Sad news from Rozvadov as up-and-coming British poker player Emma Fryer passed away after a car accident.

The British poker community is in shock this week after the news that Emma Fryer died in a car accident while in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, for the World Series of Poker Europe. 

Few details are known yet about the crash, but poker players started giving their condolences on social media this morning.  

Emma was considered a rising star of poker, with an already impressive CV that had seen numerous wins and final tables in Stoke and Nottingham. She came third in the DTD1000 last month at Dusk Till Dawn for £47,500 and her biggest career cash. 

Tragically she leaves behind a partner, Gary, and two daughters Gemma and Jess.
