PokerStars EPT Deauville: Final Table Set, Martin Jacobson Leads the Way
Only 8 players remain as the final table is set for the PokerStars.com EPT Deauville. PokerStars qualifiers Martin Jacobson and Alex Wice are out in front with almost half the chips in play, while the other final table participants will try and play catch up.

The coveted PokerStars.com EPT Deauville trophy and the first place prize of €880,000 are now within striking distance for the 8 players that have reached the final table.
Alex Wice, who started Day 5 in first place, had a commanding chip lead entering the day, but slipped into second place. The player who over took Wice for the chip lead is fellow PokerStars qualifier Martin Jacobson.
Jacobson is holding a chip stack worth 7,280,000 and now Wice is over a million chips behind, with a chip stack valued at 6,248,000.
Both players are above and beyond their competition in terms of stacks, but nothing will be certain heading into the final day. Kelly Hallaert, the closest competitor, is sitting in third place finishing the day with 3,599,000 in chips.
Players rounding out the final table consists of Julien Claudepierre, Lucien Cohen, Anthony Hnatow, Ruslan Prydryk, and Kaspars Renga. The intensity in the room will sure to pick up when the cards are dealt, and the chips start flying as €880,000 will be on the line.
Bubbling the final table
Though 8 players were fortunate enough to make the final table, there were some players whose dreams fell a bit short. One player that barely missed out on playing at the final table was 9th place finisher, Laurent Polito, who cashed in a score of €50,000.
Falling one spot before Polito was Philip Jacobsen, who also received a €50,000 payday. These two players were obviously disappointed to be walking away from the tournament just shy of the final table, but they both put up great finishes in the EPT Deauville.
