PokerStars roll out new Stars Rewards

The average Chest is worth more but will take a lot more to redeem, plus the rewards now include special Spin & Go tickets.

As we anticipated last week, the new version of Stars Rewards has been rolled out globally at PokerStars, after first being launched in the Italian market. 

Red and Platinum Chests have been removed, Diamond and Black Chests introduced. The top end rewards have been reduced (the highest prize is now $700 rather than $1,000) but the probability of hitting a bigger average reward has increased. Blue Chests now have a fixed value of $0.50.  

pokerfuse have crunched the numbers and worked out that the average Chest is worth three times more now than its equivalent under the old system. For example a Silver Chest was worth $2.97 and now its equivalent, the 4th highest Gold Chest is worth $10 on average. However, the requirements to earn Chests has also increased. Red Chests required 150 points to earn, now the equivalent Blue Chests require 350 points. 

As previously reported, players no longer have to earn four Chests in a day to move to the next level. Instead they move up to the next tier by earning 10 Chests in a rolling 28-day period. The 'Boost' system has been removed and replaced with a new feature whereby players can exchange part of their progress with a lower level Chest. For example, if your Diamond Chest progress bar is over 50% filled and you’re within 10 days of it expiring, you can exchange it for a Gold Chest.

To mark the start of the new Stars Rewards system, until April 14 PokerStars are giving away 'Jackpot Chests'. One in every 100 Chests will be worth between $25 and $1,000 depending on your current reward tier.
