Scott Seiver is Phil Hellmuth's next opponent
No Tom Dwan for a third match so instead Scott Seiver will be trying to put a stop to the Poker Brat's remarkable run in the High Stakes Duel.
It's a weekday, so of course we are talking about Phil Hellmuth. Earlier this month Tom Dwan pulled out of their rubber match in the High Stakes Duel because of a schedule conflict.
Rather than postpone the match, Scott Seiver has replaced Dwan. They both will be buying in for $400,000 tomorrow night on PokerGO (free on YouTube for the first hour).
“This program has been a must-watch event each episode so far and I wanted an opportunity to be a part of the action and hopefully add my own mark on it,” Seiver told PokerGO about the opportunity to face Hellmuth.
Dwan didn't know he was being replaced?
This is technically Round 4 of Duel number 3 in the series. As per the rules of the challenge, only when one player wins three consecutive matches before Round 4 or two consecutive matches starting with Round 4 can they bank their winnings. Another challenger can step up to the plate if it is within 30 days of the last match. The stakes have to be doubled every time a new match is played.
One player who may not have been aware of the format is Dwan, who is currently in Madrid at the Triton High Roller Series. It seems he thought that he would be getting his third match against Hellmuth rather than Seiver replacing him.

Hellmuth and Seiver will 'weigh in' tonight on the PokerGO YouTube channel. While he has not been winning many fans of late his record in this format is exemplary. He has played nine matches and won eight of them.
