The $10,000 WSOP Main Event starts today

Has it really been a year? Who will follow in Ryan Riess's footsteps and take down the most coveted title prize in poker history? We find out starting today.

WSOP 2014The biggest event in poker is back

Ryan RiessIt's that time again. The most important event on the poker calendar gets underway again today at the Rio, the $10,000 2014 WSOP Main Event.

Last year Ryan Riess overcame 6,351 other players to win the first prize of $8,361,570.

This year the Main Event is expected to be the biggest one in the last few years. This is in part because regulated online poker has been steadily returning to the US over the last 12 months, and also because this year a $10 million guarantee has been placed on the first prize.

Stay tuned to our Daily Rewind for all the action from the Main Event, before we begin even more extensive coverage of the event as it gets closer to that all important November Nine final table.
