Two Day 1s added to the WSOP Main Event
Players from outside the US can last minute travel to play the big one if they get to Vegas by November 10th in an unprecedented change of schedule.
If you had a bet on the number of runners in the Main Event this year you have been on a wild ride so far and it just got even wilder.
Following the news that the US was lifting travel restrictions on November 8th to fully vaccinated people, the World Series of Poker has announced two extra Day 1s for the Main Event to accommodate them.

In response to recent news of the easing of travel restrictions into the US, we are pleased to announce the addition of two more Day 1 Main Event flights:
Nov 8 Day 1E 11a

It will be a mad scramble to get there, but not only do travellers have two Day 1s they can play on the 8th and 9th of November, they also can register for Day 2 on November 10th. That will probably be quite an enticing option as they will still start the day with 75 big blinds.

The schedule above means that Day 1A players will have a whole five days before their Day 2. It also means that for the first time ever that a Day 1 and a Day 2 will take place alongside each other on Tuesday November 9. The whole field will combine on Day 3 on November 11, a whole week after the Main Event began.
There is also a curious game selection element to all of this. Day 1E and Day 1F will be the tougher two Main Event Day 1s ever because they will contain mostly serious European online grinders. It might be more prudent for travelling players to late register the Day 2A/B/D with the softer field but shallower stacks.
No doubt this unusual tweak to the schedule will be quite challenging logistically but there is a very real possibility now that the 2021 WSOP Main Event could be huge, perhaps even the biggest one of all time?
